Ms. Hansen && Ms Majette and Ms Mitchell did a awesome job. More teachers could learn a lot from these teachers.

The students run wild because there is no respect established. The teachers wont tell these parents that their child needs to learn RESPECT. It starts at HOME. Stop giving multiple chances when these kids do not know what the word respect means. Stand up to these black parents and let them know that their child is disrespectful and will not sit down in your classroom. Stop giving a million chances.

The principal is too soft. She needs to be able to hold her ground when parents come to the school and ask for explanation why their child was disciplined and suspended. She needs security in the building as well.

They need to start implementing this as soon as possible. They do not care about bullying and do not take it serious. My daughter was pushed into a ladder and the boy was NOT disciplined. Another boy pushed my daughter down. He was not disciplined. My daughter came home with a knot on her head from being pushed into the ladder. Nothing was done but TALKING. This is a real big problem because The parent meeting with both sets of parents is no longer an option. Nobody is suppose to lay hands on your child. PERIOD. My daughter fought her bully and got written up for defending herself. The little girl wanted to fight in the bathroom and they fought. The school wrote both of them up instead of looking at why my daughter FOUGHT. My daughter does NOT FIGHT period. She was bullied by constant boys and girls and NOTHING was done.

0. They need to get it together. My daughter will be going to another school this year. Douglass Park needs upgrades and money. The mayor doesnt give a damn about this school system. My daughter school supplies were taken on the first day and not given back. If your child got on Jays, then you can AFFORD TO BUY SCHOOL SUPPLIES. Dont take my school supplies and make my daughter share HERS. Its multiple FREE school supply giveaways. There is no reason these teachers should be begging the entire SCHOOL YEAR.

This school truly needs to work on homework, bullying and strive for excellence. They need to take BULLYING more serious. If you lay hands on anybody, first time is a warning. Second time is automatic SUSPENSION. My daughter was pushed down by boys and nothing was done. She came home with a knot on her head and cuts and bruises. She was bullied by 5th grade girls on her bus and nothing was done. The time to get out of school is 3:55 PM. My daughter bus would not show up in TRUXTON until 5pm to 6pm. That is TRULY UNACCEPTABLE. This school has PTA meetings and the food is HORRIBLE. Steamed hotdogs for $5.00. Overpriced in the box cakes from the store.
The PTA needs better game nights for the students and parents. The teachers need to let the parents know immediately about bullying situations involving their child and let the parent know that the bully was properly disciplined.
Bring music programs and art programs and cheerleading and band and basketball programs to this school.

My great-grandson transfered to Douglass Park Elementary two months after school open and I notice a difference in his teacher. He is in Kindergarden so he is just getting started in the system.

I can only speak for my great-grandson's class but, he comes home repeating what goes on in the class and some of the information is coming from the teacher.
