As daughter has only gone to this school for the summer and in those 3 weeks Iv had to take my daughter go to the doctor 2 utis. Because they REFUSE to let students use restrooms. It was 50 minutes left of the day when all the bathrooms were locked and no security In sight. She would ask the nurse and she would deny her. There are so many better schools this this DO NOT LET YOUR KIDS COME HERE.

Very pleased with the education provided to my nieces. Smaller classes, nurturing teachers, supported administration, strong heritage and alumni association. Norcom is well on its way to the mission set by Israel Charles Norcom.

Academic success is imperative in preparing students for post-secondary education and entrepreneurship.

Yes, I agree. However, this must be implemented at home. Parents have a responsibility as well.

I am not impressed with this school and frankly don't understand how they maintain their status. Unfortunately, the majority of us parents were either not aware that our houses were zoned for this school, or have been unable to sell our property due to the undesirable reputation that Portsmouth has. This school is full of gang members, homeless kids, and all sorts of other social issues. I think the teachers do the best they can with the resources they have, but it isn't nearly enough. I am contemplating giving my home away just to get out of this city and save my children from a life of crime, drugs, and gangs. This is what this school is turning out. Very sad. The 20% of kids that are actually motivated , have goals to become something other than a drug dealer, and will actually graduate don't get the attention much deserved.

The leadership is weak. The leadership there has a terrible administrative record. There has been so much scandal attached to the leadership ... its amazing how it hasnt gotten any media attention considering how much scrutiny has been given to Portsmouth politics.

I am a 1987 graduate of I.C. Norcom High School. It is well known that Norcom is the best school around with regard to pride, academics and respect from the other schools. The history of Norcom is long and the love and respect for the Maroon and Grey runs deep. It is worthy of your child's presence and then some!

I am a current student at I.C. Norcom and this school is horrible. The teachers are rude and they don't care if you know the material they teach or not. This school has some of the worst test scores for SOLs in the district. Also, this year they are making everyone wear uniforms on Mondays. You also have to join a club or you will fail (this I can understand, but the uniforms? No no no).
