We moved to the neighborhood from California in the middle of last year while my daughter was in 8th grade .it s a safe and nice neighborhood. We had no idea how dangerous and vile the school would be! I dont know where they are busing these kids in from? But wow! My child is a sweet girl with a unique style. Immediately when she started at this school, boys started liking her and girls started hating her. She was jumped by 2 huge girls and received a concussion. The principal took 4 hours to call me and was rude and dismissive when called and stated you can your kid up if youd like. We had no idea my child was brutally assulted! But as we learned thats normal behavior for these kids at this school, and most inner city schools I guess. My wife and I made a huge deal of it all with the superintendent. So the principal and staff were forced to protect my daughter. If we didnt make a huge deal of the assault, the school would have easily brushed it off. And the sexual abuse for the boy students is a whole different other nightmare!

Albert Hill has been a GREAT home for my two children (now in 8th and 10th grades). The staff is mostly dedicated and caring, and Ms. Ivy has created a culture of care, success and opportunity. I have found her to be enormously responsive to parent input and ideas, and the admin staff is very professional, prompt and caring.
Albert Hill is a unique place where the student body is very diverse racially and economically. The team is devoted to giving each student and their families opportunity to excel.

I've sent two boys through Hill and both have had wonderful experience. Ms. Ivy is AMAZING in every way and the teachers and staff are incredible. There are kids and staff representing many different races, ethnicities and socio-economic backgrounds, which was really important to us in choosing a school for our kids. We wouldn't change anything about their experience!

We have two children at Hill and are extremely happy. The teachers are enthusiastic and good at their jobs. The administration is good with communication. There are a variety of after school activities. My one complaint is an RPS issue, not a Hill issue . . . because of having essentially "double" English and math (and I do understand the reasoning behind this, especially after COVID learning loss), there are few slots available in their schedules for students to take electives. And there are so many great ones to take that this is a disappointment.

I have two children at Albert Hill. The administration is great, the teachers are amazing, the PTA is very active and facilitates a lot of extracurricular activity, and both of my children are very happy and thriving there. I can't recommend it enough.

Albert Hill is a great school. Enthusiastic leadership, talented and dedicated teachers, and diverse and thriving community. Glad to see more and more kids from my daughters elementary school (Mary Munford) continuing on to Hill. She is challenged and learning a ton this year, and loves it.

The teachers assign homework and are readily available if a student needs assistance or clarification. Very understanding and helpful teachers.

I have a rising 6th grader in the district and would love to hear more input from other parents who have children at the school. Please share.
Thanks

My daughter's teachers are excellent, caring, nurturing and have high expectations. I highly recommend this school. She is in the advanced classes and her elective class teachers have been very good too. Support Albert Hill Middle School.

The teachers care and the community takes ownership in the school. Overall a positive outlook.

This school is lacking in every way. Horrible principals. They only survive a few years or so

We have had an exceptional experience. My child is in all honors and advanced classes with teachers that truly engage, challenge, and uplift the students. My daughter comes home talking about what she is learning and can apply it to our visits to museums, conversations with adults and her peers, and has better understanding of current events with her newly-learned contexts. It's a dynamic city school with kids who range widely in ethnicity and socio-economic background. I wish Hill had more choices for after-school programs, but we love being part of this school which has worked so hard to improve its reputation. I have had a lot of interaction with administration there. Principals and staff have always known who my child is and have taken the time to get to know her. We love Hill. I wish people would cut it some slack and not judge based on the high minority enrollment. The school is clean and beautiful (wood floors, fire places in some of the classrooms, elegant tilework and architecture). I consistently recommend Hill for middle school to others.

Horrible school! My son was bullied ALL three years while he was there. Some of his teachers were great and you had a few that really didn't care about the children. I would not recommend this school to anyone.

Albert H. Hill Middle School is not a terrible school, but not too great either. I think that there are way too many tests taking place at this school. It seems to be more test oriented than learning oriented;but its not their fault. I think thats a kind of mandatory system. The school also seems to be somewhat disorganized. For a couple of days, my sister had been attending the wrong classes. Why hadnt the school faculty picked up on that earlier?
