I have heard very few incidents of bullying within this particular school. It is a very tight knit community between these kids, so there is not really much evidence for or against.

In the application process, the principal stresses that homework will be the backbone of your learning and growing process. It shows in the achievements of these kids as they progress through the grades.

The teachers here challenge the students at every turn. They show the importance of looking deeper into each subject, especially the sciences. My daughter blossomed as a result of the work of this entire staff of this school.

Again, Mr. Brown. This man lives as he preaches. The measure of a person is determined in his character that he chooses to exude. The work must be put in, the direction must be set, the ability to fail is not viewed as failure, but as opportunity. The kids are allowed to be themselves in the environment of the school while staying within the parameters of the rules that govern us. Those three words are emphasized every day.

Mr. Brown, Mr. Brown, Mr. Brown...toughest man in the building, but completely fair. He puts the cards on the table and shows the students what could happen with the paths they choose in their lives. There are missteps which leads to consequences. There is opportunity for redemption as a result of the consequences that grows the student as a person even more than as a student. He leads these teachers and students by living this every day.

The students are chosen by the actions personally and academically with the learning process in mind which means the students are generally on the same level. There are kids that don't make it 4 years and go back to their home district, but I don't think that it is based on learning differences.

As parents, this is the best decision that we could have made. We came from a private school in the first 9 years to move into the public school system where in Richmond is not highly regarded. But this school is the crown jewel of RPS. The quality of the teachers, counselors, students and administrators has been nothing less than spectacular. The challenge given by the teachers and administrators to the students could be overwhelming at first, but the way that the challenge is nurtured leads to a complete graduate that is ready for college. Students that come back to RCHS after a year or two of college credit the years spent here as the building blocks of seamless transmission to higher education. It is really a hidden gem in RPS.

As a rising senior. I would have to say my decision to go to this school over any other RPS was a good one. RCHS is a great school. We are small enough where you know everyone and big enough to stand as the #8 school in VA. Actually the only school in the top 10 that's not in Northern VA. I feel well prepared for the year ahead and college.

As a current senior of Richmond Community High School, I am pleased to say that this school is one of the best decisions I've made thus far. Everything about the school is fantastic. The environment is so loving and caring, while also teaching you basic skills needed for the rest of your life. I have created so many wonderful memories here and am currently still making them. Special thanks to all my teachers and Mr. Brown, our principal.
