The teachers seem to care about students here. Our school does great in sports. Also, it seems to be a happy place. I know all kids may not feel they fit in , but with sports, arts, band, choir, theater there are alot of ways to connect

Do not recommend this school!! This is very unsafe environment for anyone!!! I absolutely agree with the other reviews on bullying! The principal treats the trouble makers like kings and queens because he thinks that will help keep them out of trouble and when it doesn’t, everything gets swept under the rug to avoid the school rating dropping. He hands out gift cards to the kids that don’t listen or start fights and punishes the kids that have reported and put up with bullying long enough and finally flip. Even teacher referrals get trashed if it’s on the wrong kid! Death threats go unpunished whether it’s towards other kids or teachers! They get students mixed up and punish the wrong one! The principal/assistant principal say one thing and turn around and do the complete opposite to help the student causing problems.

I would definitely NOT recommend this school. When there is any sort of harassment such as bullying, threats, or fights, the school does nothing about it, even with constant complaints or worries from students. When the consolers are told that there is bullying happening to a student, they do nothing to prevent this, or even contact the parents!!!! One time there was a school shooting threat online (coming from a bullied student), and the school did not ask any questions, or even contact the parents. This kid and I were in the same English class and that is where some of the bullying would happen. This includes people throwing pencils at his head, ripping up his papers, or saying horrible things about his physical features. The English teacher is IN THE ROOM AS ALL OF THIS IS HAPPENING!!!! In the French class (which I personally take), there are kids that are constantly vaping/ doing drugs in that class. The teacher will look directly at them and just shake her head. Also in the French class, if we have a question about how to translate a word from English to French, we are told to look it up on Google Translate. There is absolutely no teaching done in that class and it is all about yelling at kids for not knowing what a French word means or using the bathroom for too long. One time, a kid took his backpack in the bathroom with him and did not even return to class. This same kid also got suspended a week prior to this and still came to the classroom. The French teacher was very aware of this but did not contact security.

This school absolutely sucks, the teachers are constantly on power trips, they treat us as if we are less human than them simply because of age and status. Yes, there are some good teachers that genuinely care about their students, however they are very few and far between. There is zero tolerance for violence, but general harassment is ok, I have many friends that have been sexually assaulted in the school, but after reporting these incidents, no consequences took place. The attendance policy is horrible, 9 EXCUSED absences in one semester and you fail an entire class, some people have weak immune systems, they act like they want to stop the spread of illnesses, but then they force us to come into school when we are sick lest we fail the class. The administrators care less about the students and more about being in control. If we want to make this school any better, we would have to replace the majority of staff, have a complete change of the rules, and put checks on how much power they have over us, we are people too, if they hate their jobs that much then just quit, we don't have a choice but to come in, they do! Many students are able to get away with things that are incredibly inappropriate for a school setting, such as vaping. This school needs to either close or change, because if not then the students attending will live with constant stress about school.

0% tolerance of fighting, 100% tolerance of harassment that leads to fighting. Very short-sighted and tone deaf administrative team to completely overlook/disregard the lead-up to a fight. A young man new to the school gets threatened daily and hears the 5 guys that harass him are planning to jump him and after constantly looking over his shoulder all day every day at school and not feeling safe to use the restroom, he takes action against one of them to protect himself (bc it’s human nature and instinctive). His life is turned upside down and NOTHING happens to the 5 guys that created this mess. SHAME on the adults in positions of power that can’t see this bc they themselves never had to be on that side of society.

Excellent. Teachers are so qualified and teach more than from the text books. They teach lessons in life and how to deal with them as students approach the real world.

I have 3 children that have been through the high school system in WJCC. My oldest son went to Jamestown, my youngest to Warhill and my middle daughter to Jamestown. She had a wonderful experience in her education, athletic career and social life. This high school was by far the best choice and as a teacher in WJCC, I am able to send my children to any school I choose.

Jamestown is an excellent school with great counselors and offering of classes. My son is taking many AP classes as a 10th grader but the school is very accomodating and supportive in offering options to further excel for the rest of the grades he has left in high school. School is safe and sports teams are competitive. The best school in WJCC system.

My third child is now attending Jamestown and loves it. The first two are both doing great at college. The teachers at Jamestown high are second to none and the student body is accepting to all.

My son had an absolutely amazing high school experience at JHS. The principal, who is now retires, was a classy, smart and attentive leader. With the exception of one teacher, the teachers are caring, smart, and there to help the kids. My son now attends a "public Ivy League" University and left JHS with 22 college credit hours, all of which were incredibly helpful with the exception AP US History and AP Human Geography both of which were easy classes, but just extremely poorly taught.

Attending Jamestown High School prepared me to excel in college. I had caring teachers who challenged me and an excellent guidance counselor who encouraged me take hard classes and try new electives like choir and journalism. Did I mention that they are also strong in sports and extracurriculars? JHS is a fantastic school that provides a quality education via caring teachers.
