Students here can be very rude and ungrateful. There are nice kids who you will like but you have to find them. A lot of students who find themselves better than others wont necessarily go up to your kid and pick on them but they can say things to them or behind their back.

I haven't had a problem with too much yet but I can tell you that the kids on some of the sports teams can be rude, snobby, and/or just plain mean. When I had explained this to my coach she only made excuses.

Overall this school is alright. The teachers can be nice and some can not be nice. This school does have good clubs, something for each kid.

Homework can be a bit stressful sometimes but there usually isnt too much for one class

I love most of my teachers but there is one problem ive noticed. One of the Gym teachers is too strict. My friend had a doctors note and he made her run. I had overused my feet in color guard and he told me to run next class with everyone watching. This teacher can be very rude. My English teacher was good but at some pounts ridiculous. She graded us for what school supplies we did and didn't bring in (which isnt allowed because not all students, like myself, hhave the time or money to get certain things). All my other classes are alright, but each teacher can be rude and/or ridiculous at some point.

I have two students at THS. Both enjoy it very much. They are challenged (but take advanced placement courses) and enjoy the social life overall. One is more outgoing than the other, but both enjoy the school.

They focused on students that showed advanced class score and largely ignored the rest of the student body.

They were more focused on meeting advanced scoring standards and other criteria to earn them more funding and recognition rather than the education and development of the students themselves.

They put less effort to support and develop students who were academically challenged.

They put effort into the development of their advanced learning programs, and counselors were very effective at advising academically advanced students, such as myself. However, my peers who did not participate in advanced learning programs and did not achieve too

too academic scores were not pushed as much, nor were they given the quality of college and career counseling, advising, and opportunities that advanced students were given.

I'm a student at Tabb right now, this is my second year at the school and overall I like the school. It's small coming from someone who's used to the city (Baltimore), but socially, I think that the school is okay. It's more the students that dictate it. You just have to find the right group for you, and not fall into groups that aren't particularly the best like I did. School is mainly about learning though and when it comes to that, I like the school. There are some teachers though, that from my experience, honestly don't care about the average student.

My steadfast opinion of the school is as follows: They are more concerned with SOL results than student success. They are more concerned with regulation conformity than finding a better process. The average parent has no real voice, only the fundraisers and PTA supporters. Their counselors do not hold themselves accountable for their mistakes and are unwilling to compromise for the best interest of the student. They are too quick to point out and fall back on credentials and status when confronted with issues.

I attended Tabb as well as 4 other High Schools and Tabb was defitnately the best as far as teachers, learning, clubs, sports, and discapline. We did not have a huge truency problem nor a problem with drugs etc. The teachers seemed to genuinly care as long as the student showed potential or like he/she cared and wanted to be there. There were lots of cliques but it was not a Super big problem and I had friends in many cliques. I am glad to hear that this school is still doing great and I would definately send my children or recommend other family and friends to this school!
