My son is in 7th grade at YMS. He has been challenged academically and personally. He has fantastic guidance counselors, and the admin team works to build relationship with every student. They aren't there just to discipline students but to connect with them.

I just recently graduated the 8th grade and moved to Arizona to start High school. This school puts a lot of time into its students education, it even offers high school credit courses. In Arizona I was not able to use these credits because they can't take middle school credits. The teachers are amazing, the majority at least. The curriculum is where it should be and through out the 3 years I spent there they have been preparing me to attend York High, but sadly, I didn't. The students are actually very nice compared to the school I'm in now. This school is great, I feel lucky to have gone here.

Awesome school. Both my boys enjoyed the quality of the teachers and staff supporting this school. Zero approach on bullying; school staff quick response and action to discipline bad behavior that should not be tolerated in school. Keep it up and thanks to school staff and teachers of Yorktown Middle School.

Two of my boys go to this school. Teachers are great and they enjoy going last year and this year.

Teacher Quality: This appears to be on the decline. Teachers are struggling to maintain order and a positive environment. The education that they can provide is mediocre because the flow of instruction is interrupted by student behaviors. Principal Leadership: Problems in the school have not been addressed or have not improved. Each teacher who fails to maintain their class and fails to teach as well as each student who fails to learn is a reflection of principal leadership. Parent Involvement: The school is becoming more like a public building in lockdown. It is unsettling when you are not allowed to walk to your child's room even after signing in to the computer which logs your name, destination, reason, takes your picture and records how long you are in the school. Parents must go to guidance and request a meeting with a teacher. This creates a division in the idea of working together as a team. The Anti Bully program addresses the problem on a superficial level. I hope the school improves, for the sake of the students.

i went to Yorktown middle for 6th-8th grade and it was awesome. The teachers we're very helpful, and they really cared. I wasn't undereducated, and the guidance counselors went above and beyond to help. They really took an interest in bullying and tried to put an end to it. The kids have their little cliques and what not but they are not stuck up and mean. Everyone is nice to each other, and no one is labeled a geek or a popular. All the staff is really sweet to everyone. This was an amazing school!
