I dont recommend this school because my daughter had the worst experience ever in her learning over there. Were in summer break and its August and she suddenly started crying a lot and she finally decided to tell how she was feeling denigrated by some teachers . It made me feel so sad I didnt know before. She suffered from discrimination the whole school year. Im glad she left now that bad school and I hope no student suffers again from getting bullied or belittled.

My 11 year old son stood at his bus stop for an hour waiting for his bus to come
I was at work and unable to take him so I told him to just go home lock the door behind him.
His school marked him as not excused. I called them to ask why that was and to explain the situation to them and they told me that kids have to stay and wait for the bus rain or shine no matter how late the bus is.
So I left work to come talk to a principal here at Deep Creek Middle School
I was left in the foyer of the school for over 30 min
This is my interaction with Tracy Reynolds the 6th grade Vice Principal and the police officer that they called before I even started speaking
I did not scream at this lady I did not curse at this lady and I was sitting down the entirety of this video
My son is a straight A student with PERFECT attendance
My son was at his bus stop for almost an hour in the cold. After all the kids walked home he was alone there at that bus stop. He called me and said mom all the kids left and I am cold so I told him to go home. What if something would have happened to my child?
Shame on you Deep Creek Middle School for taking NO accountability
And to be clear, there was absolutely NO alert sent about what time the bus was going to arrive ! No call no text no email

Ive had two kids attend DCM and they both enjoyed it. As a parent the staff was caring and made sure your kid was learning and successful

They could do better with communication. Paying a due to be on a PTA only to learn it was non existent was a waste of money. Im not interested In learning about school updates through my kid and the website calendar doesnt always have up to date info. Dont exclude parents that work but are willing to know more and be involved.

We have been in Deep Creek for ten years. My kids have had nothing but great experiences. They love their teachers and the teachers are very engaged. I have received phone calls every year from a teacher, emails are responded to and parents are always welcomed at the schools!

Deep Creek is an excellent school. My daughter has excelled the past 2 years and enjoys the learning environment that Deep Creek provides. It has a small town community feel despite being in a larger city.

Teachers here distribute the homework at the beginning of the week and the students have all week to turn it in! My child enjoys having all week to work on it, especially if it's something they do not understand, they can ask questions and get help before turning it in.

The teachers here want the very best for their students. They will often come in early and stay late to help out with study hall or remediation.

My child had a problem with bullying and it was resolved quickly and effectively. My child now has the confidence to join the SCA and become involved because of the respect others have shown her.

Again, my child had to deal with a bully but it was handled in a timely and effective manner. I trust the guidance department and the admin team to handle any issues.

When approached with concerns regarding bullying and teachers witness this behavior they do not take action. That does not hold the students to this standard.

Mr.Walker the 7thgrade Vice Principal is Awesome! He has been in direct contact with me regularly and I know he truly cares how my child is doing. He does his best but somethings are out of his control and I understand completely.

They do not take appropriate action to stop the bullying. They do not even approach the student unless a physical threat is the result. Due to the bullying they are frequently on lookout to make sure fights dont happen. This is not acceptable and the students should feel safe from bullys. This does not support The CPS No Tolerance to Bullying Guidelines

5 stars from past experience until this year. I give them 2/3 stars due to the lack of taking appropriate measures and holding the bullys accountable for their actions. I also give a 1 star regarding the lack of empathy and knowledge most of the teachers have when working with a child who has mental health problems. Again this is not all the teachers but this year I have been very disappointed with the majority of the 7th grade teachers. Ive seen numerous videos of certain teachers constantly yelling and talking down to the class. Some of the teachers when they reprimand a student and know the student is unhappy about it the teacher will continue saying stuff to them as if they are expecting to get a bad reaction from the student just so they can enforce more of a punishment. This never happened in the past but maybe my coincidence it seems as if hiring a lot of new staff this year that were not Deep Creek teachers its almost a lack of connecting. I have addressed my issues with the school system and Im just hoping this current year will end very soon. I will not give up regarding the bullying though and if need be I will take appropriate action with the law regarding the students that are doing the bullying. Id hope the school would do more and maybe they will but if not I have a zero tolerance policy for bullying and I will go over the school system to ensure my student and other students are safe.
