Gill Grove Baptist School

Gill Grove Baptist School has been a true blessing to our family. Below are the pros and cons of the school for anyone who is looking for well balanced answers and reviews:

Pros
1) Affordable! The tuition is a 1/3 of the cost of other private schools in the area and Gill Grove uses the same curriculum (Abekka) as some of them.

2) Small class size. The class sizes at Gill Grove are small. My child was one of 11 students in his kindergarten class and that was considered a large class. Having fewer students ensures more one on one focus and attention during the learning process.

3) They have wonderful Teachers. The teachers take pride in their jobs and do a very effective job in teaching the children. My son's reading ability at 6 years old amazes me and I know that is a direct reflection of the teacher's instruction.

4) They teach cursive writing in kindergarten which means the child is able to read in cursive as well.

Cons

1) They are not online. I put this as number 1 because, as a planner, this is a little frustrating. However, you are able to text the teacher with any questions you have so that takes alot of the frustration out of it.

2) They have a strict dress code for the students and parents. Normally I am all for a strict dress code. I feel school is a place of learning and you should dress in respect of that. The only reason I placed this as a con is because the dress code for girl students and parents is strictly skirts. As a person that doesn't wear skirts often, this was a weird rule at first. By the end of the first year it was not a big deal, but just know going into it that if you are a woman and have to do something at the school other than just dropping your child off, a skirt must be worn.

These are truly the only cons I can think of for this school. Gill Grove is an affordable, quality Christian school with prices that cannot be beat. I appreciate their mission to provide an affordable private school for those of us who don't want our children in public school but do not have unlimited income. I am very pleased with the instruction, atmosphere and quality of Gill Grove Baptist School and look forward to watching my son flourish academically in an environment that is safe and has high moral standards. You really can't go wrong enrolling your child in this school.

This is a Christian based school so moral character is obviously taught and expected.

It is never more than the child can do given their age and attention span. Also, based on work from the day that comes home, it is a follow-up which is exactly what homework is suppose to be.

They have smaller classes, and tend to have more one on one ability with each child.

My mother said it best when she came to a program, the children seem more like "children" like they use to when she was growing up. They don't act like the unruly kids you find in public schools that seem to have no respect or discipline.

I am very pleased with my experience, and have enrolled my child for his next year of school. The school is of course bible based, Christian, which I am very happy that he is growing in his knowledge of God's word, and love to hear him break out in Christian children's songs at home while playing, but I feel he is getting a MUCH better education here than he would at the public school our house is districted in. That school is not even accredited. He reads so well for kindergarten and counts to 100, and they don't teach printing, they teach original cursive. He adds, subtracts, tells time etc... very pleased. Couldn't be happier with his education. I like the people and other parents, but I attend a different church and did before I enrolled him at Gill Grove.

Excellent school. They have a heart for there students (which I once was). The staff are all very kind and do everything they can to help each student succeed. I do not attend the church (although I have in the past and they were very nice). The school is a great institution focused on Biblical values and Biblical truths. They teach the Bible and challenge each individual to study themselves to know the truth of what God's Word says instead of believing the lies that the world wants you to believe. I would highly recommend the school as well as the church. There are very few like this one.

I do not recommend this school or church for anyone. The church is not a house of god or even a decent consideration for any child's education. The majority of the guidelines and teachings of the church are about repressing woman and segregation of races. The preacher and staff misconstrue biblical passages to support their personal beliefs. The fact is the church endorses colleges that have little to no credentials. They insist that members disassociate themselves from friends and family members that do not follow the preachers personal beliefs.
