Deep Creek High School provided me with long lasting education, post-graduation guidance, and support in planning a career or continuing my education in colleges/universities. Several of my teachers provided me with the tools to apply to colleges- recommendation letters, reviewing my essays, and improving my resume. I was given the opportunity to be involved in athletics, clubs, and the National Honor Society. Deep Creek High Schoolo begins to introduce students to post-graduation options by their sophomore year, not only interesting them in college, but also trade school, understanding that each child has a different calling. Although I was not a part of the program, the Science and Medicine Academy is one of the most desired academies to attend in the Hampton Roads Area. Overall, I am thrilled that I was zoned for this school and had the opportunity to be so involved. Deep Creek High School may be underfunded, but this is not at the fault of the school, but unfortunately the community and the lost support that is directed towards schools with less minorities and more resources.

The school needs to go back fo focusing on giving our kids a proper education, and less on creating division. We're all poor and trying to survive ao get the stick out your butt, humble yourself, and remember why you became a teacher or admin in the first place. It's getting embarrassing.

This school had the opportunity to be an example of what community and compassion looks like. But instead they chose to back a teacher who wrongfully used physical aggression against a student for something as simple as a restroom break. The school is absolutely disgusting and the leaders in question are even worse.

Deep Creek is a fantastic school despite being under funded and under appreciated. My daughter moved to Deep Creek when the bullying got bad at Great Bridge and no one would do anything about it. It was the best move we could have made. The majority of the teachers seem to truly care about their students. And not just about their learning - they care about how they are doing socially and emotionally. The change in my child has been night and day and while she choose not to go the academy route, she still feel like shes respected by her teachers and peers. It make me wonder what would happen if Deep Creek was better funded for its everyday students. What greatness would those student achieve also.

Both my children graduated from
Deep Creek High school. Both participated in athletics and orchestra as well. One child chose the path through the Science and Medicine Academy ( and loved it!) The other was satisfied with the regular honors/AP curriculum. My eldest is now a graduate of The College of William and Mary. My youngest is a sophomore at The University of Charleston in West Virginia.

Deep Creek has a high number of teachers that are alumni and I think it positively impacts their dedication to the students & the school. Our family has loved every part of Deep Creek high school from the coaches (shout out to the basketball program) to the administrators. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

My daughter attended Deep Creek High School as a member of the school's Science and Medicine Academy. I have nothing but great things to say about the school. She had the best teachers and access to the same AP and Duel Enrollment courses that are available in all Chesapeake high schools. She graduated in the top 10 of her class with a 4.86 GPA. Do not let the not so great reviews deter you from passing over this area. If your child is a good student, they will gravitate to the other students with similar interests. She did not have a single bad experience in the 4 years she attended. She graduated in 2021. The teachers are excellent and the director of the Science and Medicine Academy is top notch!

The school is not horrible. The school has some good teachers, but a lot of bad ones. We have sorts of problems, threats, fights , drugs, the school is not the best, I would say be careful when starting.

The school is falling apart, has had multiple bomb threats, the teachers are mid (except for a select few), it takes forever just to get lunches that are also mid, etc. The internet connection is absolutely terrible, and dont get me started on the amount of things unnecessarily blocked by admin. Overall, 1 star school

It's okay I guess, but severely underfunded. Still beats a lot of other schools in SOL Scores despite having severely less funds. A bit average in sports, a lot of losses, but more wins than most other schools can claim.

Drop Creek High School is a great school! We have 2 kids that graduated from here. Great experience for both! Our 3rd kid is a student currently at Deep Creek. We dont have any issues with the school and call it a hidden gem. Get involved with the school & you find the teachers & Admin care.

Guidance counselors are awesome. There are a variety of after school clubs. The schools provide tutoring, SOL help. It's also smaller than some of the other Chesapeake high schools. I am hoping my daughter has a positive learning experience here.

This school is great. The faculty and staff are always willing to help with anything. I like how the small size allows all the teachers and students to feel like one large family. Our school's sports teams haven't been the best lately but, our school spirit is still here. I would recommend this school to anybody.

Deep Creek is a good school but we need more funding for repairs and materials. In my math class last year we weren't even issued calculators because the school didn't have enough and this year the calcutlators we were given were falling apart and barely worked. The school is old and severely needs to be remodeled as well; bathrooms that are disgusting with broken toilets and desks that are basically rocking chairs. In addition the school is overcrowded it takes oil most all of my lunch time to even get my food. Overall the teachers are great and I learn a lot every day it's a small community and everyone knows everyone but things NEED to change.
