Crestwood Elementary has been incredible for both of my boys. They really do take a team approach to understanding and facilitating all aspects of education. I am grateful for the staff and their continued support as we (my husband and I) are always learning how to parent two entirely different children at different age and developmental stages.

My son gets bullied all the time at this school. When I got tired of what was going on, I told him to fight back.. then they called me and said he was doing all of the bulling.. My son is black and the first thing they're going to say is he's wrong I'm not going to let my son be bullied or be unhappy!! I want to do something but what can I do?? I don't trust the teachers or principal!! I NEED HELP!!!

Teachers and children entered together in a most respectful manner . A marvelous tribute to Veterans , both living and Those who had passed away , were shown in a slide power point . Music was appropriate and children made brief presentations. Current Veterans and families of deceased Vets were asked to stand for a tribute ..Children were marvelous a nd poised and respectful , behaving so well .Teachers and principal are all to be commended for excellence ..I hope to attend again next year in November .Kudos to the staff and administrators of Crestwood School ! Over my 6 years at Crestwood so far with two children, we could not be more pleased! This school is a gem. The teachers are amazing, and love and teach the children not only academics, but kindness, respect and inclusion. The principal and asst. principal are incredible. They love this school and community so much, and is shows in the creative events always going on at Crestwood. The PTA is very involved, so the programs and events like WinterFest, Nature Fair, Fun Run, Teacher Appreciation are top notch. I couldn't ask for a better elementary school for my children. We love Crestwood!

Words cannot express how great we think Crestwood is! We love that it isn't just a school but it is a family and the whole community is involved. The kids don't have one classroom teacher but a building full of adults willing to help and support them. The leadership and teachers have done a wonderful job of pulling the kids together as one body and not different classes or different grades. There are many programs for all students! Crestwood is always being recognized for there innovative methods and teachers are never afraid to try something new if it will benefit the kids.

As the parent of a second grader, I have been nothing but thrilled with my experience during our first three years at Crestwood. The teachers are invested, innovative, and welcoming, and the superb school administrators- especially Principal Porzio and Assistant Principal Parsons- are constantly finding new ways to inspire and engage ALL of Crestwood's students. The Kindness Migration, Series Reading program, and new STEAM class are just a few great examples of how Crestwood encourages students to become good friends & citizens, lifelong readers, and innovative problem solvers. I love the diverse student body and true community feel of Crestwood, and am happy that both of my children will have the chance to be a part of such a wonderful learning environment.

The culture of kindness at this school makes bullying a non issue. When kids are happy and enjoy school, they are not as likely to engage in negative behavior. Our guidance counselor is amazing and the work he does with our kids to build self esteem and to teach compassion is inspiring.

I have 3 children at Crestwood. I consider it a hidden gem in Chesterfield. The leadership at this school is amazing and fully engaged with the students. Principle Porzio and Asst Principle Parsons are innovative and involved with each and every child. Year after year, I am amazed by their teachers. They are all experienced educators. Each teacher my kids have had took a genuine interest in their success with schoolwork. They are attentive and very open to parent communication. They are proactive in their academics and work with their kids one on one often. In addition to the required material children learn, this school works very hard to teach them how to be good citizens, good neighbors and good friends. The culture of kindness in this little school is something I have not encountered anywhere else.

CrestwoodÂ’s Migration of Kindness program is a perfect example of how this amazing school teaches our kids how to be good friends to our peers and good friends to our Bon Air community. Crestwood kids are taught good life lessons and how to be excellent citizens of our community.

Leadership at Crestwood is engaged and innovative in their approach to education. Year after year they confirm for me that my children are in the best school in Chesterfield. I am grateful they work so hard to make each year at Crestwood better than the last. They along with the teachers are in education for all the right reasons. Once your child comes to Crestwood you will see!

I found Crestwood to be extremely supportive when kids need extra supports. The teachers and leadership work hard to provide resources to all who need it.

I have a first grader at Crestwood. Our experience has been nothing but positive. I cannot praise the principal more highly for the work she is doing in the school to create a positive learning environment. The teachers are of a high quality and very engaged. A truly wonderful school that never fails to amaze me. They "Live The Crest" every day.

We have a daughter at Crestwood and the experience has been nothing but positive. We are thrilled with the leadership and the teachers. There are so many great opportunities for Crestwood kids! We attended a STEAM event for free at the Science Museum last weekend, my daughter is taking FREE swim lessons through the school twice per week, and the kids just had another awesome field trip last week! This school represents a wonderful community with a focus on kindness/caring that we really appreciate. This constant focus gives the school a great anti bullying climate and really motivates the kids to be involved and motivated to participate.

We have two children at Crestwood, one in second grade & the other in first. They love their school, as do we! The principal is engaging and constantly striving to get grants for new and exciting programs...most recently dancing classrooms, a STEAM class, and money to fund their PBL program revolving around kindness! The teacher's here love their students, they are wonderful! We are moving soon to Raleigh and the hardest part is leaving the family we have developed at Crestwood. Choose this school, you won't regret it!

Crestwood is an incredible school! It feels very warm and nurturing, but they also take education and personal responsibility for one's choices very seriously. They truly take the "living the crest" model to heart. It is a wonderfully diverse school too.

All three of my children go to this school. It's safe and well regarded in the neighborhood. The smart kids excel here and opportunities for the gifted program really do a lot to challenge the brighter children.

Our daughter's Kindergarten year at Crestwood was fantastic. Even though our daughter was testing two grades higher in many areas, her teacher and the administration went out of their way to make sure she was still stimulated. The teachers and the administration are terrific, but we were quite disappointed with the low levels of parent involvement in the classroom and in the PTA.

With the exception of one teacher, Crestwood has been dismal, a disappointment. The teaching standards and materials are low. I end up spending my evenings teaching my child (who is bright enough to get it when I teach him). The teachers teach far too much to the SOLs (which are not particular good teaching tools), I sense no inspiration for learning for its own sake, there is far too much reliance on the use of computers in the classroom, and the homework is both uninspiring and weak. Crestwood so far has been a good argument for home schooling or (if one had the money) to place one's child in a private school.

My son just graduated from there today and although he was not an award receiver, he has turned out to be a FANTASTIC human being and loves to learn and try new things and problem solve, which is a lot of what CW is about. I love this school and I hope that it doesn't change for my 3rd grader. I just wish he could keep Ms. Guarnera forever. But different teachers is part of life and the good news is you can't go wrong at CW...I just wish more parents were involved!
