My daughter transferred to EDMS as an eighth grader after several years at a private Christian school. We were apprehensive at first because of how small her previous school was, and we were worried about her being targeted by peers or ignored by staff. The opposite was true. She was welcomed by teachers and staff alike, and quickly made friends, joined groups, and even starred in the school musical. We have been impressed by EDMS in every way. The principal's leadership trickles down from the top! The staff is always receptive and easy to talk to. The teachers keep in touch with parents and answer questions in a timely and polite manner. The students seem to enjoy their time at EDMS as well! We are happy we made the switch and only wish our daughter could've attended all three years of middle school!

My daughter went here and she would come home crying saying that her teachers were not helping and that she was failing and that her pers were billing her and we went to the consolers and they didn’t seem to care that my child was being bullied I don’t think this school is doing its job the right way the don’t follow the governments rules they make up there own rules and go by that

The principal is in tune with issues facing the school and is actively engaged in creating a diverse culture of learners!

We have had an extremely positive experience at Davis. My child has enjoyed her classes and the relationships she has developed with her teachers and the staff!

EDMS is just awful to say the least. My nephew has been going here for 2 years now and here it is just the 5th day of school and we have already scheduled meetings with one of his teachers and the principal. For one, there is NOT enough diversity in the school. Kids and parents want to see other people that look like them. This school lacks African American, Hispanic, Asian or Middle Eastern teachers and it can be a very uncomfortable/intimidating feeling. The teachers at this school are so hit and miss. You may have 2 good, caring, authentic teachers, but also get stuck with 2 more teachers that are rude, in-genuine and disrespectful. The stories my nephew has told me about the treatment he gets is so alarming that teachers would talk or even act how they do towards CHILDREN. There has been a teacher that has put her hands on him and grabbed him by the arm very aggressively that was even caught on the school cameras. The teachers talk and act very disrespectful to students as if they are adult bullies. All that behavior does for a child is bring on anxiety and make them feel unwanted. Teachers are suppose to be fun, loving adults that these kids should be able to go to for anything. Some kids face a lot at home and school is suppose to be their safe place, however some of these teachers rob the students of that. My nephew has an IEP in place because he does suffer with a disability yet some of his teachers have completed disregarded that. The teachers at EDMS will give it a bad reputation because of their attitudes and treatment. If you cannot show respect to children and/or parents then you should change your profession.

I've had two very different kids at this school. The teachers are fantastic and everybody has been helpful and go above and beyond to make students successful.

Horrible. I've had two kids at this school. My son wasn't given support he needed. My daughter has never had any problems until she started going here. The staff are too busy to deal with any problem right away. It took 3 weeks to even enroll them because they wouldn't take the time to do it. Rediculous. *The art and French teachers are wonderful. This is a school that pampers the wealthy.

I have been very happy with the Elizabeth Davis Middle School. My son has a disability and I have gotten great support from the teachers and staff to ensure my son's success.

My daughter is entering the eighth grade this year. She has become very responsible and her academics have only gotten better because of her amazing teachers. I believe the teachers truly care about the students.

Great curriculum and technology integration. Student recognition is a high priority which encourages them to achieve academically in the classroom.

Wonderful school and great community. I would suggest a little more bully control but overall it's a great place with great teachers and staff.

This school is absolutely horrible. Yes, Chesterfield County has poured a lot of money into the technology, but the rude, overpaid, underdressed, self-centered, dancing teachers that do not have time to spare to talk with children and parents when grades are questioned need to adjust their priorities or find another profession.

My daughter is a student at Elizabeth Davis middle . When my daughter started we were coming from another state cause of my husband job . My daughter has had such a hard time at the school. She went through bulling and the school really wasn't supported on fixing the problem. It is very hard to find friends at the school .

This school is amazing. The teachers had a huge impact on my child. If your looking for a public education for your kid(s) this is the school.

My student is appropriately challenged at EDMS, and the school is clean and feels safe. However, neither the faculty nor the administration communicate well with parents, either on a school-level or on an individual level. As a parent, I generally feel out of the loop, even when I go to lengths to communicate and be involved. Parents are not treated as members of their student's educational team. Additionally, this school does not use any textbooks, which makes it very difficult for parents to be involved in supporting their student's learning at home. EDMS has integrated technology to such a degree that they have lost human-to-human collaboration. Despite good intentions, the intense use of technology has made this school impersonal and detached.

I am a student here at EDMS and I have also been to 2 other middle schools I am not a big fan of this school some of this staff is rude and grouchy it is very hard to make any friends here and if I have a event that is very important to me even on the weekends I don't get to do because every subject is giving us piles of homework I personally think that Russellville middle school in Arkansas should be one of the top 10 school in the US besides EDMS and the students has no manners they cuss they though food and they don't respect the teachers

I transferred my son to EDMS from private school mid-year and have been thrilled with the program. He loves his teachers, each of whom have been very helpful acclimating him to the new setting. Transferring in from a tiny school (100 students K-12) to a public setting has been very smooth due to the incredible team organization (the teachers who work in pods/teams creating a smaller school setting within the whole). The facilities are newly constructed and well designed with an impressive amount of thought going into layout to optimize team organization, security, and student flow. It is well equipped with computer labs, controlled wifi and other state-of-the art features. There is an active PTA with opportunities for parents to volunteer. Security is emphasised with limited access and computerized sign-in with picture ID badges for all visitors. EDMS has its own friendly Chesterfield Police Officer whom most students know by name and respect. (I was impressed with the security -- when we visited to tour the school with the principal, we came early and waited in the parking lot...within minutes a staff member with a radio approached to identify us.)

I have been at Elizabeth Davis Middle School since the first year it has opened back in 2008, and i have gone there all three years of middle school. I have had the pleasure of watching our school grow and change and progress. There are a great selection of teachers at this school that connect on a higher level with most of the students. I loved laying sports here, its an awesome way to meet new friends, i did Cross Country in 6th grade, and Cheer leading in 8th grade, and Tack&Field all three years. Sometimes the rules are absurd, such as no hugging even if you are the same sex, and walking in line everywhere, except classes, but overall i loved going to Davis and i'm going to miss it very much, as i move on to High school.
