The teachers and staff have made a positive impact on our children and every time I have been to the school, I have felt a strong sense of safety with the Sheriff always being in plain view.

NO BULLYING ALLOWED!
My son had an incident once on the bus, the bus driver handled the situation, apologized to us, and when I spoke with the Assistant Principal about the concern, he promptly resolved the issue.

My son has had a reading deficiency and the team that worked with him and kept me informed on his progress was superb. He was never isolated from other students and never aware that he had a deficiency. The Principal, Assistant Principal Guidance Counselor, School Nurse Resource teachers and office Staff have excellent communication with students and parents.

The school pledge - "I will live the Warrior Way, by
respecting myself, others, and my
community." This is not just a pledge recited each day, this is the way the students have learned to treat others.

Every teacher my son has had at Achilles from K - 5, including resource teachers, and Special Education teachers have gone beyond my expectations to, encourage and help my son reach goals and go beyond.

My son has been an Achilles Student since Kindergarten. He was a preemie and had a learning disability. We didn't think he would ever be able to read on appropriate level. The staff at Achilles had him on level within 2 years of his IEP. He leaves for and comes home from school excited and full of stories of his great day. Best teachers around . The entire staff at this school is exceptional!

The staff and teachers at Achilles are wonderful. I have a child with special medical and educational needs and they have bent over backwards to ensure my child is set up in the best learning environment with 100% support.

My daughter has been at Achilles Elementary school since kindergarten and is now in the 5th grade. It saddens me to say that she will be leaving this school and moving onto middle school next year. The entire staff of Achilles are hands on with the kids as well as the parents. In all the 6 years of being at Achilles I have never once encountered a teacher or other staff member that we did not agree with or dislike. My daughter has always struggled in reading and writing and gotten extra help but because of the teachers attention to see that she struggles much more than she should have to she is now an IEP student and will get even more extra help that she needs. If you want a hands one good elementary school this is the place for your child. They once a month have some kind of function for the kids to have fun.

My daughter has gone to Achilles for the last 2 years. She is in the ipop preschool program. Ms.Lynette and Ms.Julie are wonderful teachers who care deeply about the progress of the students. She has learned so much and truly loves going to school to learn. All of the staff is friendly and polite. The principal makes an extra effort to greet each child and show them the attention they deserve. She starts kindergarten next year and I expect she will continue to have a fantastic experience!

My son has gone to Florida schools K-2, another VA school for 3rd grade and started Achilles in the 4th grade. He has always been a smart kid but has had many behavior issues due to ADHD, Asbergers and Anxiety. Achilles is the first school he has gone to that he has not had ANY problems. I feel it is because of the smaller student body, teachers and principals know each kid by name, and it is obvious that this team of staffers truely love and care about each and every students success! He is now going into the 5th grade at Achilles and I am confident he will have another great year! I just pray middle school will be the same!
