I am extremely disappointed with Pleasant Glade Elementary School. My experience with this school has been frustrating from start to finish. Communication from staff is inconsistent at best important updates are often missed or sent out at the last minute, leaving parents scrambling.
One of my biggest concerns is the lack of attention to student safety and bullying. Incidents dont always seem to be addressed in a timely or effective manner, and it often feels like concerns are minimized rather than taken seriously. No parent should feel uneasy about their childs well-being while theyre at school, but unfortunately thats been my experience here.
The level of organization within the school also seems lacking. Policies are unclear and sometimes enforced unevenly, which creates confusion for both students and parents. When Ive tried to raise concerns, it felt like there was little follow-through or accountability.
Additionally, the overall environment did not feel as supportive or attentive as I expected. Students who may need extra help dont always seem to receive the attention they deserve, and thats troubling in an educational setting.
I really wanted to have a positive experience here, but unfortunately, that hasnt been the case. I hope the administration takes these concerns seriously and works toward improving communication, consistency, and most importantly, student safety.

I have three kids who went to this school. My youngest going into 5th grade, the other two in middle and high school. I really love this school, the teachers are truly amazing. so far, every teacher has been amazing to my kids. Shout out to them, and the hard work they do everyday for our kids. Pouring into them, and preparing them for their future. Its not an easy job. I cant speak for anyone else, but Miss Goodwin, Miss Herron, Miss Rossi, Miss Wright, & Miss Jolly, all are so appreciated.
I believe the principal/leadership is good as well, but havent gotten to know her thankfully because my kids dont go to her office. Lol.
Ill also add, My kids attendance has not been good, and I appreciate that I dont feel judged for it. Because they truly dont know what is going on in our lives, and I feel like its been discussed in a trauma informed way. Shout out to pleasant glade for being an amazing school.

Absolutely adore this school. Teachers are all phenomenal - warm, welcoming. Administration and front office are fabulous. Well funded with title 1, and funds are used properly. Kids truly are benefiting. They have smart boards in every classroom. Brand new playground equipment. Food is terrible - but thats on thurston county. The school is amazing though. Positive learning environment and happy kids.

Our two children have attended Pleasant Glade for the last two years and I have nothing but positive things to say! Both the bus pickup and parent drop off systems are efficient and work well. All of the teachers have been amazing, the school administration is great and helpful.

Pleasant Glade has a lot of challenges facing it. The needs of the students are great and diverse and it is undersupported by the district when it comes to staffing and physical resources. Considering these factors the teachers work twice as hard as many in wealthier areas and truly care about the community they serve.

Extremely disappointed with this school. My son is in 5th grade and supposed to be doing 6th grade math. It took us contacting the school board and 3 months to get something done. The principal had denied any special accomodations for him until we contaced the Director of Math at the district office directly. Only now, with a quater of the school year done is he taking a 6th grade math glass at Chinook. Send your kids to Lakes.

My child has learned nothing at this school. We came from GA where he was advanced and now he is behind. They don't focus on the three R's enough. I think education got lost and America needs to go back to the basics of learning. Math and Reading are the most important subjects. If time allows then teach culture. Culture is not that important. The kids will learn culture as they grow up just like we did.
