I attended this school back in 2003-2006. As a military brat, I have moved around a lot and seen several schools. This was the best one I have attended hands down. Teachers cared and I excelled there. I transferred to another school in California and they noted how far ahead I was from them. I got into the gifted program. Funny, at this school I was just an average student but in others I was gifted. My mother passed away when I attended this school and the teachers were very hands on in trying to help my siblings and I through that hard time. I always reminisce to the times I attended this school and am working on trying to move back there so my kids can attend this school. 10/10 highly recommend.

My daughter attended Crescent Harbor during the 2016-2017 school year. She had an amazing teacher and a wonderful experience. Her teacher always taught more than the standard curriculum. My daughter was able to score 4s on the state tests because of the excellent preparation she had. The teachers, staff, and principal always go above and beyond what is expected. There was also an after-school club called K-Kids (Kiwanis) that my daughter was able to be a part of. I would highly recommend Crescent Harbor Elementary to anyone thinking of enrolling your child.

My daughter has been going to this school since she was in 2nd grade. She loves this school and her teachers have been wonderful so far. I was a little nervous before moving here trying to find a great school for her. But I don't regret my decision on her going to this school. She's made so many great friends, she'll be really sad once she has to leave. Highly recommend this school!

The principal currently at the school is a huge gossiper. She is extremely rude to students. Walking through the hallways I heard her YELLING in a students face. There is NO reason to yell at the kids. You can be a leader without that type of behavior towards a child. There is also no communication between the principal and parents.
The counselor at the school is purely junk. He says he will do groups and talk with a student and never follows through. There are supposed to be different groups offered all year to students-and the 2016-2017 year there were none until the last month of the school year. How someone can be so incompetent and still have a job is surprising.
All the teachers that we have had (Kindergarten - 3rd grade) are caring and do an amazing job with the students in their care.

Most teachers still send home packets of homework-even though research shows that it is ineffective for students in the elementary ages.

I love this school for my son. He has always had wonderful teachers. But the principle is very moody and she is not afraid to let people know when she is in a bad mod. She is a very young principle so she also likes to gossip about her own staff members. I've only met her a few times but within those few times she has told me several things about several teachers (some I have no idea who they are.) I am thinking about transferring my son to Hillcrest because of how she is. I'm worried that anything and everything my son or myself do then she will go around gossiping about it.

We have been in oak harbor over 4 years and my children have been there for kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades. The teachers are great and a friendly staff. I highly recommend enrolling your children in Crescent Harbor Elementary. Sad to be leaving soon!! But a great few years here!

We just transferred away and we miss Crescent Harbor so much. The Principal is SO nice and caring and remembers all her kids. She even brought homework home to our house for my daughter when she was sick for a week. Now THAT is a great staff ! My daughter went to K, 1st and Second there and my son went to K there. I cannot describe how caring these teachers are. The school facilities themselves are not fancy or recently upgraded etc. But - the school reminds me of when I was in elementary school where all the teachers loved you first and taught you second. As a military mom - I really appreciate that because our kids need that a lot when they move so much. Love love love everyone there. I just wish more parents volunteered there because they need more badly.

I have two children currently enrolled in this school (this is their 3rd year at this school), and I must say it is an excellent school. The teachers, staff, principal, aides, everyone is so caring and concerned about the children. My kids have quite a bit of homework, but are excelling academically here. I have only good things to say about Crescent Harbor Elementary, and would highly recommend this school.

I just read someones review from Sept. 9th, 2008. I feel like her complaints are a little outrageous. First of all if some of these parents volunteered at the school they would know that is not true. I have volunteered at CHE for 2 yrs and I think the staff is wonderful. They don't have a choice on the prices or the meal plan. It is from the state and the district. If someone doesn't like the menu they should pack their childs lunch for that day or for the whole year. They do help with supplies. I have seen teachers buy for the kids out of their own pockets. So I think this lady was a bit unfair. I think the school is wonderful. I would put my kids here again.
