The teachers in this school made no effort to make my daughter feel comfortable at this school. My daughter loves school and tried really hard to connect with her teachers and they were so cold and rude to her! They don’t communicate with parents at all. Most of my emails to her teachers went unanswered. We have sense changed to St Michaels and my daughter couldn’t be happier.

Very bad. The vice-principal needs to shape up.

I have witnessed at least 3 people being bullied with no further action take upon them.

My sixth grader has a brief math or science assignment most nights, plus independent reading and occasional social studies notes. My eighth grader has more of everything. It's not a huge homework load but gradually increases over time with occasional busy times.

The school emphasizes character and I'd say overall is a safe and supportive environment. I recently attended a combined band-orchestra-choir concert at which the entire student body was present (850 kids) and they were for the most part respectful and attentive in a somewhat hot and crowded environment.

I'm unaware of bullying problems at the school. They work hard to emphasize a culture of kindness.

I have two students at WMS right now, in 6th and 8th grades. They've both had a positive experience (thus far). When I have reached out to teachers or the principal with questions I have found them responsive and helpful. This is a school with overall nice kids, good teachers, and a positive learning environment.

I think most of the 7th and 8th grade students at this school are respectful of us 6th graders and respectful to all the staff.

Posted: March 15, 2017

All the staff at this school are supportive and kind. They will never try to tell you your wrong or put you down. w.m.s is a great place to be.

Posted: March 15, 2017

The homework at w.m.s is easy and fun most times. i love the fun writing assignments i get in language arts!

Posted: March 15, 2017

All the staff and for that matter students are very friendly and nice. I love my education and learning experience here a w.m.s

The principal seems only interested in doing the minimum. Olympia school district identified many highly capable students but the principal doesn't want to implement a single program to help these students to excel. All he concerns is to keep everyone ordinary. School districts announced programs before the new school year but when the school year start in fall 2015, all the promises were gone and not a single word to explain it! Terrible!

some teachers are good, others are not. When I came to the parents meeting, math teach told me that "your son is doing great!" then nothing more to tell me. Sounds good? but I want to know how he learns, how to improve? My son is a big reader, but language art teacher struggle to tell me why he doesn't get good performance and grade in class.

My son can finish most home work in 10 minutes. Sure, light and easy, but without review and necessary amount of homework, do they learn solidly?

Two kids currently attending (have since 2012) - no issues. Strong academic environment. Kids do not report bullying. Clean facilities. Teachers teach....but kids will do as well as their parents invest in them. We are in the military and have lived all over the country and world - this is a good school. If looking to move to Olympia, this is were I'd start.

Students are well-behaved and respectful to others. Teachers are diligent and sincere. Office people are helpful and kind.

It is pathetic. Let me count the ways: 1- more focused on their social life then academic. 2-teachers are unaware o f what to do. 3- unecesary rules and disciplinary actions. and MANY more...
