My experience at Kopachuck was terrible. I feel like the only thing I learned from this school was social interaction and not the good kind. A very small majority of the teachers that were not disrespectful let the kids walk over them and do whatever they wanted. Some of the teachers would bully the students and not in a playful-banter way, a really disrespectful way. At one time, one of the teachers made a joke about how a student should get run over by a bus. That was only one of the times they had crossed the line and made students feel like they were not good enough. No matter how much the school would say that they include all students, the teachers did not give off this energy at all. The staff and principal were very unprofessional as well. As you can find rude and disrespectful kids anywhere, this majority of kids in each grade felt like the worst. Kids would use racist and homophobic slurs and are very rude to the teachers and others. Throughout this time, the teachers would do nothing about it. I had two friends get sexually harassed in the school's hallway multiple times and teachers did very little to nothing about the situation. This was not the first time students objectified others; a group of boys would "playfully" pin students (including me) against the wall for just a moment and then let go. Teachers also did nothing about this. There is so much more that I have not witnessed but heard about the students and teachers, and nothing about it is positive. The education is terrible as well, teachers hardly teach at all but still overload with school work. They would let students take as many chances as they could without teaching them, which gave students the idea that they don't have to try because they know they can just do it again. I do not recommend this school at all.

The only thing I got out of going to Kopachuck Middle School was the people. I was unfortunate to get one of the worst math teachers in the entire school, she calls in students that she knows dont know the answers shes asked kids if theres anything they can take to help with their disability and she has a tendency to not help. She ruined math for me and I feel so bad for everybody who gets her and anybody thats had her. The best teacher you couldve gotten at the school was Mis. Hallam PE teacher. other than her most the teachers were not that enjoyable, and the classes were just not fun.
My suggestion is not to bring your kids to the school. The principal is not good. The teachers arent good and they say theyre going to stop the harassment in the halls, but they never do.

the principle this year is terrible. she is very unprofessional and does not have reasons behind any of her actions. students are disrespectful to others using racial and homophobic slurs and teachers do not do anything about it. teachers verbally abuse their students in some classes and also require too much homework and blame it on the students for failing when they do not even teach the subjects. open book quizzes are taken when 90% of the information is on the chromebook, that is forbidden from using in tests. many teachers are very passive aggressive for no reason. teachers do not care about theyre students mental health, but then do lessons on preventing sexual harassment and preventing teen suicide. but they do not actually do anything to help students from harming others or themselves. in conclusion, kopachuck is a terrible school. i dont recommend and i hope this review reaches the right people and the school does something about the hostile and abusive environment.

The staff at this school is horrendous. The principal, office manager, and numerous teachers are unprofessional, uncaring about the students, and worst of all they are bullies! How sad is that?!

Of course our first year at KMS is during a pandemic, and is remote- so our experience is in that context. Our child loves being a part of KMS. As a parent, Every single person at the school we have interacted with has been caring, responsive, and dedicated. I completely disagree with the negative reviews below. The course selections in math and advanced English/Language Arts and Social Studies allow for gifted students to remain challenged and the teachers are all enthusiastic and engaged. We are looking forward to having our child grow and learn in the in-person environment as soon as it is safe enough to do so.

Terrible. If you want your child to lose their soul, send them to Kopachuck. They have no conscious and certainly do not promote positive growth in students.

99% of the teachers give 100% to the students. With the exception of one. It is sad to say that this one teacher does not belong in the teaching field, as reflected in her students grades throughout her classes. All in all Kopachuck is a wonderful school providing an excellent education and has a very positive atmosphere. I feel my child is safe while attending school. The bus system is very good as well.

I must say that Peninsula School District and Kopachuck Middle School are by far much better than the schools my children have attended in another nearby distrcit. The Vice Principal has been very supportive. Most of the teachers and the counselors have also been very supportive. I was disappointed though that another parent was allowed to corner my child in the hallway and have a conversation with him without anyones knowledge.
