The staff are helpful and nice. They communicate well and update you on your children's progress. The current principal is Ms. Diamond and she's been great with being upfront and accountable and when my daughter had accidental exposure to her allergen she sat with her until my partner could pick her up and while an emt checked her out. She is showing improvement with her reading, writing, math, and art, every year.

We transferred out because of the principal Mrs. Williams. She should be running a prison not an elementary school. We transferred to a different school because of her.

Teachers tell students whatever happens at recess, they do not want to hear it. Multiple teachers seem to not have patience for the students.

Posted: March 28, 2018

It's like the principal is running a child robot factor where they are trying to turn out college bound "kiddos" and they dont know how to deal with kids who dont fit that mold.

Both of my children have gone through hunt, and been better for it! The avid program is great. The teachers are all caring and truly invested in the kids.

Hunt has a great staff. They are always smiling. Love the teachers also that my children have gotten so far.

Hunt Elementary is a great school with a very caring staff. My 2nd grader loves attending school here.

I love this school and I have loved all of the teachers my son has gotten so far. He has come a long way since starting kindergarten at Hunt. The biggest downfall for me is the security. I have never been asked for my ID when I go to the school to pick up my son. I have also called in sick for my niece and they didn't even question who was calling. If someone had taken her from the bus stop and called the school to let them know she won't be there for the day that could give a kidnapper a good 6-7 hours with a child before they would even be noticed as missing. I know that is very unlikely but in today's work it is definitely a possibility everyone needs to be prepared to prevent. Like I said the teachers and staff have been amazing and my son loves his school. Just a few things I would like to see changed.

Hunt Elementary is a fantastic school!! I have had 3 kids at Hunt over the past 11 years, and every year has been a blessing! My kids have had a great education, have been cared for, and have been well-prepared for their next phase of life. As my 4th grader says, "Hunt is the BEST school! The teachers are all very supportive, super kind and helpful. If you don't go there, you should!!"

As new foster parents, we had never experienced enrolling a student or really even parenting a school aged child. The ladies in the front office were super helpful and offered great advice for figuring out transportation and the lunch system. Once we were enrolled the Kindergarten teacher allowed me to schedule a meet up time before our FC's first day. The teacher instantly made her feel at home and set her up in the classroom. I honestly can't say enough nice things about the teacher. She even sent a card to the students over winter break, which was promptly placed in our FC's keepsake box. Thank you so much for providing a positive learning environment for our extended family member.

Hunt has small class sizes compared to other elementary schools in the district and my kids have had amazing teachers the past 3 years!

I really enjoy the Teachers here. I am always informed and Mrs. Harmsen there is an absolute delight and I love her to pieces. I love Mrs. Cushman the Kindergarten Teacher, she is absolutely an amazing Teacher my son has learned so much in her class.

This school is a joke. The principal is ridiculous and does not care about the students. I've had to go over her head many times. She will back up the teachers even when they are clearly wrong. I've found ONE amazing teacher there who restored my faith a little but sadly my son couldn't have her every year. I'm happy to say that we will be moving after this school year.

The School is run by an arrogant Vice Principal, along with an authoritative Principal. Both administrators are more concerned with authority and control, than the overall education of your child, which I feel is counterproductive to the education process. I am deeply disappointed with the leadership, and feel that this military style of leadership has no purpose in the public school system. I have had multiple conversations with both of the administrators at this school, to which my concerns are never answered or resolved, because of their lack of integrity and refusal to ever be wrong. I recently put my house on the market and am moving from Puyallup due to the overall character of this schools administration.

Coming from the Sumner school district, I am very disappointed with Hunt. This year has been a real struggle for my son. I believe much of this has to do with his inexperienced teacher. I am also very disappointed in the vice principal and the office staff. My observation is that the school is run in a militaristic fashion. Not enough care and concern for students. I regret moving into this district and hope my son recovers from his time at Hunt.

Being a military family, my son has been to 4 schools in his 5 years of education. This school has been the best by far. The environment is friendly and positive. The staff is inviting and encouraging. They do a great job of communicating with families and have already had several events. The principal is easy to talk to an is very knowledgeable. I know that my child is well taken care of during the day and is engaged in learning. This is so important especially to an overprotective mom with a background in education. I am very pleased with this school and it's staff.

Hunt elementary is lead by a very well knowledge principle who is very involved in her students well being in both the classroom but also what happens beyond the 4 walls. Our children are blessed to have a wonderful amount of loving and caring teachers to guide and strengthen them. Thank you Hunt elementary, you are truly a first rate education system!

Hunt Elementary is outstanding, I have 3 daughters who attend. The really enjoy their teachers, so they love to learn what is being taught. Hunt has great great leadership in the office. They are caring for the children.

I am very happy to send my daughter to Hunt . My experience with the teachers and Administration have been positive. I have had excellent communication with her teachers, often through email, and always receive a response. I like the district's emphasis on College as just being a part of the plan and a given. I am excited for my daughter to have the same class for 2nd grade as 1st to make the transition smooth and her experience positive. This foundation can make or break a student's educational experience and these bricks have been solid. My only wish (and this may be for all schools) Is that the PTA had a bit more "T" involvement. I don't see staff at PTA events.
