We haven't personally had to deal with this so I'm unsure how the school handles it

In my experience the teachers at this school really care about your childs journey in education. My wife volunteered in a class last year and she saw it first hand.

I don't have any negative experiences with leadership here. As a veteran I do appreciate the school celebrating being an American unlike other schools across the country. They also do good programs and plays where GKHS Army Rotc program will come out for ceremonies.

Being a smaller school nestled in the country my wife had her worries about our sons education but this is his 2nd year there and we love the staff and all the stuff the PTA does and how it had that small community feel. I also love how the kids love to read due to the AR program they have

For the last 2 years both of my sons teachers made learning fun and they incentivize progress.

I would give 8 out of 10 stars as a whole of the school. I think administration needs a little tweaking. Other than that, I don't plan on leaving and love the teachers and parents.

This school has some great teachers. I have only found maybe 1 or 2 that could invest some more effort into the kids. Most teachers go above and beyond and do their best to offer support to kids that need extra help. The new principal for the 2014/15 year has a lot to learn and will hopfully develops into a good principal. She has some very big shoes to fill. I appreciate that this school offers a good variety of after school clubs. I also love their giving garden and the idea behind it. This school is small enough that the kids really get to know each other which is hard to find these days with the huge amount of over crowding in neighboring school districts.

Awesome, awesome, awesome. The staff here is amazing. My only complaint would be that they tend to favor the kids that have been there since K. So when it comes to awards there seems to be favortism.

The reviews here are old. Before you attend Kapowsin Elementary, get current reviews and check on the school's performance. The quality of education is below par. There are a few teachers who care and are good but they cannot carry the entire school. Principal leadership these past few years has been average to poor which I believe is responsible in large part for the school's decline. Parent involvement is amazing and great effort is made by the parents to compensate for the lack of caring and quality of education at Kapowsin. The school's test scores are terrible unless you are happy with below average and 'way below' average test scores. It's a shame.
