Roy Elementary is a great school my daughter is in the special education program and it's been amazing for her. She gets so much help and when I have a problem or just a question her "special teacher" calls or emails very fast. Any time I call and talk to anyone at the office they are great and so helpful. I have never had any problems with at the school with anything..

The principal and staff is absolutely horrible with special education. They do not follow 504 plans.

I have a child with SPD and this school has failed him miserably.

Our daughter has attended kindergarten and 1st grade so far. The teachers truly care about their students and welcome parent involvement. The focus on math this year was intense and helped my kiddo excel on her testing scores. We also liked how they were able to incorporate different reading levels for kids. I was able to volunteer during the year in my daughters classroom and got to know the staff pretty well. Very impressed. My only complaint would be the lack of daily exersize/recesses, especially for the younger kids. A single 15 minute recess right after lunch is not going to help them maintain any type of focus. They need to run off that energy at least twice a day. Bring back 2nd recess and I guarantee more they will have better class focus, an easier time paying attention and learning.

We have had 2 of our children go to school here for grades K, and 5 - 6. The teachers have been great and our children have benefited from a real sense of community. We love Roy elementary and the faculty go the extra mile to help the kids.

My son has spent kindergarten and First grade at Roy. We love this school. The staff is amazing, personable, friendly and commited to helping your child succeed. They have the most active PTA I have ever encountered and high parent involvement. My son is in top 10% the staff has created a separate program in math and reading to accommodate his needs. They also offer an accelerated reader after school program and fitness club. I'm a little confused as to why the district does DIBELS testing in first grade, seems too easy but that is my only complaint. The staff is strong and consistent. We experienced a principle change in between grades and returned after summer break to minimal changes and big ones in a positive direction. Another bonus is the teacher advisor is available to parents for help with Common Core.

My Children all attended Roy Elementary. There is something to be said about a small school with community attachments. My oldest is now a Junior in High School and has maintained a 3.7 GPA throughout his middle and high school years. My 2nd son is a Freshman now and was excepted into the Cambridge Program at Bethel HS. He also was in Honors throughout Middle school and gets All A's. My youngest just graduated from Roy last year, He now attends Cougar Mountain and is enrolled in honors. These boys were not perfect children, they do not just wake up knowing all the answers. They had a teachers, facility and staff that took a personal approach with my kids. They are well rounded boys that get in trouble at times and cause adults grief, but they are growing to be great adults and I believe this was in large part to the staff at Roy.

I am a student going to this school. I am in 6th grade and I have gone here since Kindergarten. All through the years the teachers and staff have been supportive, friendly, kind, and understanding. Mr. Green, the principal, listens to us as the students and is always friendly. Being a small school, the teachers and staff can get to know the students and there is not much bullying. This is a small, but productive, school that is a great environment for students!

While my child has been going to this school for the past 3 years I have greatly enjoyed the small town environment. Teachers are pleasant upon initially meeting. My child has had a great previous 2 years, but this year has received a teacher who is new to the profession and is not challenging her in the way that she needs to be. After conversations with the teacher, there has still not been any improvement and I am greatly considering removing her from this school for next year.
