Graduated in 2011 when i was there it wasn’t the best school but i’ve been to alot worse schools. I had several teachers i liked and few who i didn’t bullying was handled effectively for the most part. In my view i usually felt safe but once again improvements could be made by the school and district as a whole

This school is horrendous. The admins are useless, rude, and overall live to bully children. I have a close friend that was kicked down the stairs and told to kill themselves and the admins had it on camera, and they said it was an accident. I’ve personally been harassed by admins who are only there to make school worse. If you can do NOT go here, it is a horrid waste of a school.

The district only cares about the teachers and gives zero cares for the students, the teachers don't do their jobs to the fullest and lack any connection with the students. Probably one of the worse schools in the area. Popularity is everything here and if your family isn't well known in the town you will get nowhere. The school does not support students learning differences and if you do struggle they just throw you into the alternative school. This school is set up to make kids fail and work the average 9-5 job. Everyone who goes to the school is depressed and the school could care less. Obviously they are doing something wrong but they are so oblivious to how the students feel they don't think it needs change. The principle is also non-existent she just deals with discipline so the school has no defined boss or leader. Overall a terrible school, I recommend that nobody ever moves to this town or go to Stanwood High school.

I've lived in Stanwood my entire life, and I can safely say that although there are some shady people here, our acedemics and sports are above average. Our sports teams are always going to state, we have excellent coaches, and overall amazing teams. Acedemically, our Hi-Q and Knowledge Bowl teams have achieved so much as well. If the students were more enthusiastic about school (it's high school, what do you expect), SHS could really be an amazing school. I would never want to go to a different high school.

Like all schools, there are some good and some bad teachers. We have excellent teachers in the science, arts, and language departments. Math is iffy, English is pretty good, but it depends on which teacher.

Many students at our school could easily learn these things if they cared enough.

This school has a yearly review of bullying policies, as well as how to protect others' that may bullied. It is not taken lightly. Teachers and administrators are actively monitoring the hall ways, outside areas and such in between classes as well to help minimize bullying. Many groups are set up in an effort to have students come together collectively to encourage each other and have a healthy bond.

Classes are set up on a regular basis to make sure that all students meet certain criteria, and get whatever assistance is needed to meet this criteria.

Leadership at this school is strong. The standards and rules are explained often and apply to each student. This school has leaders who are very professional, personable and even encourage teachers to actually "not only teach" but to actually be concerned and adequately knowledgeable about the lives of their students.

The fact that students overall seem comfortable and secure is evident. Students are encouraged to be productive members of our community. There are many groups and activities to attempt to ensure that all students feel welcome and involved.

Taking into consideration what I know about many of the teachers as well as students views on teaching styles/learning styles, etc. I would say that teachers here are very goal orientated and able and encouraged to teach to each and every student.

The homework required is adequate to the learning process, not just work to do. Homework correlates with the timelines for effectively learning material.

A great school that lines up with a great community. The values of local teachers, local parents, and local students seem to add up to something special and long-term, passed on from one generation to the next. Having lived in other places, I can honestly say this one feels like home...

My family moved out of Stanwood to avoid sending our children to this high school. Bullying, drug use, and lack of opportunities are the top reason we chose to leave. The community as a whole seems to support allowing children and adults to get away with horrible behavior. It starts at the top, the district is lead by an overpaid superintendent that made little improvement to the schools facilities or safety.

I recently moved and cannot go to this school anymore but from the two years that I was able to go here, it was amazing. I have to say, most of the teachers are great. The whole art department is amazing. I was in choir for both years and acting for Freshman year. The friendships that I made in those classes were amazing. There was a couple teachers who you could tell didn't care about their students but who cares about them, the better teachers make up for it. Great school overall.
