This is a TERRIBLE school especially for special needs kids. They treat the kids with animosity and they dont work to meet the needs of special needs kids that they're required to by law. This is the last school I would ever choose for my child.

This is by far the worse school I've had to deal with for any of my six children. They say they have support for IEP students but when it comes down to it, they leave them in the dirt and force them to learn the same way as the rest of the students who aren't on an IEP. We had this issue last year where they didn't even know he was on an IEP and then the promised they would address all the concerns which took the entire school year to remediate. Then after an entire school year of screw-ups, we go on summer break and end up right back where we started the first year. The teachers refuse to accommodate our student and think that he should do everything the same as everyone else regardless of his IEP. At this point, I want to remove all my students from going to Baker and smear the school. Even the principal is incompetent when we go to her with our concerns and she refers us back to the teachers that we have had the issues with. When we were looking to remove our one student last year, she called and pleaded with us to not do it and said she would do everything she can to make things better for our student, but here we are with empty promises and more failures on the Baker administration. I'm ashamed that I even fell for their talks of fixing the issues when I should have known that this website was right about the terrible issues plaguing this school. The entire staff should be replaced by competent teachers. No parent should be forced to put their kids at this school.

My child has been telling me after school almost everyday that he is getting bullied. I've tried talking to the school but you don't seem to care. This school is a terrible choice for you're kids and I would never recommend anyone go to this school. My child after 2 months didn't want to go to school because of how much he's been getting bullied. Any other school is better then this. Did I mention the staff act horrible to the kids. They try to act nice in front of the adult's but I know. Change you're terrible school it sucks.

I have always been weary of this school for various reasons since I was a teenager. so when I found out my child would be attending this year I was hesitate to just accept it. But, because they wanted to stay with friends I let my personal issues go. I wish I would have stuck to my instincts because from the moment I stepped foot on this campus I have had nothing but extremely bad experiences. The first time I was in the office I was completely ignored while they attended to the needs of parents coming in after I did that were clearly more well known.
Once I was acknowledged I was treated with short curt answers & rudely directed where to go like I should have just known all along.
In addition to this I learned that I do not like the idea of any school telling me where or when I need to purchase things. They force parents to purchase their over priced shirts & sweatshirts as well as force students to conform to their idea of what it is to be organized. The students are required to purchase & maintain to the schools liking a huge binder. I have seen some of the smaller children struggling just to hold on to this thing! They will be punished if it is not in order or brought to school each day. Although purchasing the Avid binder & supplies saved us money. It took away the enjoyment my children & I had when it was time to do our back to school shopping. Besides what money we saved on the school supplies we lost in the price of the uniform requirements.
I don't mind the uniforms at all. But, I do mind not being able to purchase enough clothes for my child for the entire year on my own budget & clearly with my first experience in the office I am extremely hesitate to walk back in the office to purchase more shirts. I much prefer buying clothes at a store!
They do have a low price closet but with the already being treated poorly plus the stories I have heard about bulling. I don't care to place my child in the position to be known as the kid who got his clothes in the closet.
The other thing that has made me totally done with this school is they use words more commonly known to be used in military schools. Demerits & "Civi" (civilian) days. Students can wear everyday clothing if they have achieved such a reward.
It feels like the good kids are being punished for the bad ones. I wish more parents felt like this so we could change the negatives together.

This school feels as though it is trying to run itself like a Military or private school. It is very unnerving and unwelcoming to the parents so I can't imagine what it must be like for the kids.

This school has a bullying problem. I went to Baker years ago and got picked on so severely that by the time I got to high school I had developed emotional problems and had become suicidal. Now the child of a family friend has just started there, and already he's telling us about how the other kids are harassing him. . . Sounds like things haven't changed one bit. If you care about your children's safety and emotional well-being, do NOT send them to Baker.
