We are very happy at this school. The teachers balance being communicative with the students need to learn independence. They effectively teach quality material. The administration is visible and available if needed. The kids are nice and respectful. The school building itself is nice. Just overall very happy with CJH and glad we chose to leave the Catholic school system to come here.

Teacher/counselors that are coaches seem to only be at the school to coach. They never return emails, update grades, and you can tell that their main priority is not teaching.
The other teachers seem just fine, but know that if your child gets placed with a "coach" they will not get thr education they deserve. We have experienced multiple balls dropped, lack of communication and slow to responses to concerns.

Literally the teachers could care less about about the students here! Teachers will literally watch while your child gets punched in the face and do absolutely nothing about it. Literally! A male student punched my Daughter in the face while two teachers watched and said and did nothing. What a joke!

We moved to University Place School District for the schools. What a mistake!!! We should have stayed in Tacoma. The Administration is a joke! The learning is mediocre. My child got very little out of his education and was bullied and harassed and the school would do nothing to protect my child. We are moving just because of the schools. The city itself is nice but not worth the headache and risking my child's future.

We came from out of state and my daughter loved it from day one! The principal went above and beyond to make my daughters courses work for her. Shes being challenged, and I love the opportunities the district in University Place provides! Amazing school!

Best school district my family has been a part of. I noticed low income scores are low. This is not a low income neighborhood. Which is why the school doesn't have problems with violence like the surrounding Tacoma school district.

This is our first year at Curtis Jr High coming from out of state. The principal was very personable and made sure my child got into the right classes as well as making sure that they would be prepared for the future. Didn't have any problems making new friends and loved that they continually prepare the kids for high school. Highly recommend.

I am sure the school is just fine if you are a cast member from the Brady Bunch or like the reviewer under mine who's child has been there since K but like the March 6, 2016 reviewer my daughter experienced not bullying but complete shunning. She is too alternative to be able to be bullied . I have tried to communicate but that's not working . Grades are in the trash . Will be TRYING to find another high school in the fall . School needs to realize they have a societal problem . Will be a miracle if my daughter ever graduates now as she also does not want to go back to school . My daughter appears to have started there approx the same time as the 3/06/16's did also but toughed it out . .

Investment by the city. The teachers and curriculum are above national standards. My child has been in the district from kindergarten and I highly recommend the district.

My daughter went to this school and on the first day she was bullied, forcing us to switch districts. Worst of all it caused her to have a strong disliking for school. If I could give this school a 0 star I would.

Every school official strives to promote honesty, integrity, and fairness behavior and if expectations are not met consequences will be addressed.

I love my school inside and out, they could have healthier organic lunches but overall from teaching to lunch menus our school is great. Our school has great preforming arts programs and many after school activities and sport.

They are AMAZING! I love the teachers at this school test scores are improving every testing period. We have the best teachers.

The amount of homework given is a lot compared to some schools but it pays off. The homework is based on what you learned that day and truly helps you succeed in the subject.

This school is unsatisfactory. My child has been constantly bullied and has found no support from the staff. The school does not encourage creativity and does not provide a quality educational atmosphere. The staff are ignorant to the fact that they are not a top quality school. The surrounding school districts are even worse, but that does not mean it is flawless. Do not waste your time at this place.
