After a child w some extra needs was already enrolled and a quarter in already. The school had no idea about a IEP program that they were supposed to be in and attending. Then proceeded to only do the bare minimum for the child. The school made the child take regular exams even being in this program and then complained to the parents that they were below what they should be. In class a child was slapped by a classmate. The school did not reach out at all to either of the parents. Not even a email. Or to to even check on the child. The teacher said that an advocate was supposed to reach out and it never happened. The parents only found out way later when attending conferences. Then tryed to blame it on being short staffed. If a child is Harmed in any way the parents should be contacted right away, no excuses! Beware of this school!

Fort Stevens Elementary is absolutely AMAZING! From the office staff, nurse, teacher, principal and vice principal are truly wonderful! I couldnt recommend them them more! Our personal experience is from Kindergarten through 3rd grade and each year that passed, the teacher brought something different each year. From basic classroom learning and social development to mathematics and science! If youre thinking about sending your children here I highly recommend this school! Were about to leave WA and I wish we could bring the school with us, thats how impactful it has been for our family.

My daughter has attended this school since third grade. She is now in sixth grade and we have had nothing but positive experiences with Fort Stevens. We are an active duty military family and have moved A LOT. My daughter had a rocky first three years of schooling however, after starting at Fort Stevens three years ago that changed everything. The teachers are amazing and the staff is great to work with. It seems the teachers really take their time to address concerns not only from the students but also from the parents. THe school also does a lot of things after hours for the students, such as kids night out, which involves not only the children but also the parents. Great school, great education and great parent involvement.

I love this school. My daughter has been attending for four years now and is constantly being challenged and engaged, as well as motivated to learn. Great principle and all the teachers are friendly and competent. Great communication between staff and parents. Happy environment with much to do. We are sad to be PCSing from this wonderful school.
