Cascade Christian -Junior High/High School

My son attended Cascade from pre-k to 7th grade. Although we did have our fair share of issues with teachers and staff over the years, we always felt like attending cascade compared to public school was the lesser of two evils. The biggest takeaway we got rather quickly was cascades number 1 priority was profit. Aside from the constant fund raising on top of the very expensive tuition, they find ways to charge you for every little thing (like football cost $250 to play on top of providing your child with cleats etc). I don’t want to make it seem like we were miserable because that wasn’t the case. Cascade preaches we’re all family and did a good job of making us believe that! That is until it’s time to stand up and be accounted for like family is supposed to. The summer going into 7th grade I became extremely sick and lost my mobility. I was unable to work, exhausted my savings and maxed out my credit cards paying bills and tuition. Between hospital visits, I was in constant communication with the powers that be at cascade, In hopes we could come up with a plan to keep my child in the only school he’s ever known. Sadly that was not the case! Not only did they kick my son out but they did it in a manner that showed no compassion! He took it hard initially leaving all his friends. Of course I felt like I failed my son but you never think it can happen to you until it does. Unfortunately That cascade family stuff they preach extends about the length of your wallet! It’s just big business. Nothing else matters!

There is a millstone waiting for the administrators at the Elementary school. They don't protect the innocent.

Excellent experience for our two kids who appreciate the academic rigor, supportive teachers, athletic opportunities, and welcoming environment.

The previous reviews about dishonesty and fake people are accurate.

We had high hopes for this school and sent our 3 children here for 2 years. We had read the previous reviews, and still took a chance thinking that they were probably not that accurate. I'm saddened to say they are, and we will be withdrawing all 3 of our children for the following reasons:

1) We wanted to send them to a private school that had better opportunities for extra curricular activities, college prep academics and sports…

2) The culture is friendly, it just depends on who you are and what ethnicity you are.

3) Our kids were quarantined due to ANOTHER student exposing them to COVID, they couldn’t provide adequate distance learning education to catch them up. One of our kids even got marked as absent multiple times and we got a "multiple absences email."

4) One of our Children (non Caucasian ethnicity) had a conflict with a Caucasian girl causing the girl to slap her in the face. Even after the conflict our Child decided to make a mends, and the Caucasian girl we were told got disciplinary action…..:but she won one of the end of the year 4 pillar awards for this particular situation, for "extreme ownership."
So basically, slap someone in the face, get suspended, but then get rewarded for having "extreme ownership."
Not Quite the lesson we want our kids to learn.

I attended CCS from pre-school up until 10th grade. Those considering sending their children to this school need to ask themselves one thing: are you interested in your children being educated or indoctrinated? If your main concern is education, you will absolutely be disappointed by this school district.

While the literature department was decent while I attended, all other subjects (ESPECIALLY S.T.E.M [Science,Technology, Engineering, and Math]) are abysmal at best. I needed remedial classes in algebra, biology, chemistry and Spanish upon transferring to a public school as my education in those subjects had left me utterly unprepared.

If your main concern is the indoctrination of your children, than look no further! A large amount of time at school was spent studying the bible, taking apologetic classes, talking about the bible (even in unrelated subjects), and going to mandatory chapel services. The message of these chapels could be pretty extreme, for example I recall one in which students were warned that Harry Potter was satanic and shouldn't be read by students.

So far my children have had a great education. Both of my kids make the honor role and study and enjoy their school. My kids also have been at this school for years and never have seen drugs in the bathroom or bullying being allowed to go on. I know that principle of that school does not put up with any students doing drugs she is very proactive to handle any issues.

Pretty sub-par for the cost. Teachers and staff seem to turn a blind eye to bad behavior. Drug use in the bathrooms, rampant theft among students, not good.

the Jr. high and hi. school are a huge disappointment. This school hires sub par teachers and continues to not fulfill the private school expectation. The Spanish teacher does not even speak normal Spanish. Look else where for the money you will spend.

Incredible educational institution that develops discerning leaders ready for today's world. I was both a student and now am currently a parent of student at the school and they continue to impress me each and everyday. The dedication of the teachers and administrators is second to none. We are blessed to be able to send our kids here and I was blessed to be a student there.

Having had our children at a different private school in the area since kindergarten we chose to leave due to the lack of acedemic and athletic offerings at the high school level. We have been so pleased with our experience at CCS. Our kids have excelled academically and have had the opportunity to participate in all sports as they offer a large selection. Our greatest joy is in how they have been treated by the staff as well as the students. Hand written notes of encouragement and congratulatory notes of praise are just some of the kindness shown to our kids by the staff. Although always difficult being the "new kid," our kids have been well accepted and treated really well by the others. When given the option to return to their old school they both said without reservation, "no thanks."

I Have to agree with the other reviews that have one star cyber bullying and harassment the whole school is filled with rich kids i was sexually assaulted there once and im glad im out now not all teachers are bad but there are Crazy ones one picked on my friend and me in the class and didn't even bother with the girls who were having there phones out in class of all places didn't even bother with them the lady was sexist to men and the students harass you on whatever they can if its an assignment your going to get harassed because of your handwriting or for example what type of story you were going with and the Cafeteria oh god no no NO NO if you want your kid to go to a school where pretty much anything out of the Soda machine is diet then fine but even the machine that sells energy drinks are diet OH AND HEY THEY GOT THE IDEA TO GIVE YOU DIET WATER yup there that stupid and they still have it I personally asked teachers opinion on the matter most agreed it was stupid though they have no control over it and i guess that's all they can drink for a soda so the kids are trash and the teachers warp the message of the bible.

I can not stress enough all my reasons not to go to the school. I personally beg you not to put your children in this school. Not only are the kids bullies, but the teachers, and kids parents. You definatley have to buy your way into the school, and everyone there has their own idea of biblical curriculum. I honestly hated all 11 years of it, and now that i have changed schools, i am so much happier and healthier. Going to public school, i was behind in 5 classes.... So much for preping you for college. They taught me no skills for the real world and gave such little opportunity to children with parents that didnt hand that school money like an allowance. In my opinion sending your child to this school is one of the biggest financial and also moral mistakes you could make. Ive been out of this school for quite awhile, and the children still continue to cyber bully me. these things are all PERSONAL EXPERIENCE AND OPINION.

We have been with Cascade Christian School for 11 years. I was hesitant to send my kids to a private school. I came up through a public school and so did all my siblings, I thought that was the only way to go. But I am so thankful that my wife talked me into taking our kids here. The environment is unlike anything I've ever been a part of. The teachers truly care about each and every kids progress. I have over 40 nephews and nieces, and when we have family gatherings you can definately tell the difference from my kids. They are more disciplined and they love the lord. Because that is what they are being taught. Don't get me started on the education difference either. My kids are way ahead of them too. It's too bad that some people had a bad experience with this school, but I can tell you this......"You get out of it what you put into it!!!!!!!!!!!" CCS all the way...Go COUGS!!

We are into our 11th year at CCS and are at the junior high now. My kids are athletes and CCS is the best for sports and college recognition. Just a Heads Up that CCS grade school campuses would better serve for preparation of an awkward family situation if human biology/sex education were taught or even introduced to the children (public schools teach that in 4th/5th grade). By the time Cascade students are learning about this in 8th grade, they have been hormonal for a couple years. If your kids go to CCS elementray and then enter public junior high, they miss any lessons on sex education altogether. It's like closing the barn door after the animals are already out. CCS is better than the failing WA State public schools and is one of the best private schools overall: the other parents are great, and the teacher work hard, so we are staying.

I went to this school from elementary all the way to the first semester of eighth grade. I was being bullied and harassed on a daily basis. When I told administration about this they just brushed me off. They said, "I feel bad for you." but never did anything about it. After that I switched to Frank H. Ballou Junior High School. Ballou reached and exceeded my expectations. They told us, "Bullying will NOT be tolerated." The whole staff is very kind and supportive. I do not regret leaving Cascade. The academics at Ballou are very good, as well. I was actually behind in 4 of my 6 classes. I never realized how behind Cascade was until now. My parents were supposedly paying for a higher education and a better well rounded environment at Cascade. We received neither of those. No amount of money in the world could make me go back to Cascade Christian Junior High.
