This is one of the worst schools in Puyallup School District. They are discriminatory, racist, and do not provide the necessary supports for there students. This includes students with disabilities and students of ethnic background. The students are targeted by the teachers. For example, my student was held back after school and her only way of transportstion is the school bus home. They new she was a bus rider. She has rode the bus for all 3 years and all her time in Puyallup School District. She was still held and I had to pick up from school. I glad that I was able to leave to go pick her up. She was held so the teacher could talk to her. She was not in trouble and never have been a behavior issue in school. School is supposed to be a safe place for every student. School is supposed to be the union between parents and students. It should not be punitive. Emeraldridge school culture is punitive though. I do not recommend sending your children here. They lack diversity and cultural sensitivitiy as well. This is the short version. There is way more incidents to tell but not enough space or time on an online platform. I gove them a 2/10. That 2 is for the very few teachers that care.

My reasons for my rating are very simple and clear. I am a full time running start student and due to COVID I never got the chance to interact with this building or with the staff. Today, I went into the building for the first time and my first interaction was with the front desk lady. She was neither welcoming or helpful. I was being very polite and the questions I asked where not difficult. She seemed very irritated and aggravated that I was even there. Don't get a job that involves helping if you don't want to. On the other hand the counseling office helped me more than she ever could, and my questions weren't even related to counseling. You want a welcoming "JAG nation" then fix your staff.

Our son enjoys his learn experience and has maintained perfect attendance and excellent grades

Homework is given over time and not all at once.
Posted: December 21, 2019
Our son is very happy with his teachers and often talks about their approach to a subject.

Students respect each other and help each other a great deal.
Posted: December 21, 2019
We are well informed about our sons progress and school functions.

There are higher learning classes for students who excel like pre ap and ap.

No problems since our son started at this school.

I do a good 15 minutes of work a day and sleep the rest of the time because all work can be done extremely quickly. AP classes are the only classes that people really get any homework, and even then it's not much at all.

Office people are overall useless and blame every issue they have on students. Staff are hypocritical and quite awful at times. This is in middle of nowhere and an hour walk from the nearest store, without any coverage inside he prison-like walls. I wouldn't be surprised if iron bars and wall padding was added to every prison cell.

This is amazing and rocks!Plus the teachers are amazing to be around and they will be there to help.

The office Secretary, has the same name as a tv show that starred Julia Luis Dryfus, and she needs serious customer service training! She has to be the ruddest person behind a counter I've ever had to deal with. Each time I've had to contact the school this woman has come off aggressive and hostile. The principle does little to help address individual problems. Some of the teachers seem very callous and appathetic. They don't want to work with parents and the times I've tried to speak my concerns about my student to a teacher I was met with again hostility, like It's not their problem and I'm wasting their time. It's sink or swim here.

ER is the best high school I have ever attended. 10/10 would attend. it is very very very very very qualified to teach children

As a junior this year it safe to say I know the kids and teachers of ER pretty well, but in my experiences they guide you to success and don't hold your hand in the process which prepares us for the world and gives us a better grasp on things. Of course every school has it's up's and downs but out of all I wouldn't pick any other school. (:
