Been at the school for 4 years and we’re so excited to be leaving! The amount of bullying and nothing is done to that child but to the child who ends up having a reaction from being bullied. The teachers do not care!

Our daughter attended this school for two years and we are so happy that she started her education here. Her teachers were so kind and supportive and helped her to learn and grow in confidence. A military move forces our leaving and we are all unhappy about it. Thank you Carter Lake for a great two years.

As previously stated, First grade teachers are ABSOLUTELY amazing!!! After having a bad experience in Kindergarten, we were unsure of how first grade would go and it was just FANTASTIC!! Can not praise that team enough! After having such a great experience in first, we knew for sure that second would be just as great...What a big freaking joke!! Second grade teachers have nothing in place to challenge kids that are more advanced than the rest of the class, nothing consistently pushing them or excelling them. My sons teacher, worried so much about the kids who could NOT read and mainly focused on reading groups that when I asked about science, social studies, writing she said that they just did not have time to do those subjects and they needed to get their reading and math scores up. UNBELIEVABLE. Do yourself a favor. Unless your kid is going into first grade, don't send him/her here. You will regret it.

First grade teachers are PHENOMINAL!!!! Kindergarten (2014-2015) teacher chose favorites and often complained that my son (who knew how to read) would not help "teach" the other kids and often put my son in "think time" when he told her that he would rather work on something else. this teacher has been relieved since. this year, second grade was a FREAKING NIGHTMARE!!! teacher was just thrown into second grade last minute, I'm assuming. The kids ran that classroom. My gifted son regressed so much this school year and has developed horrible habits from the rowdiness of the other kids and the incompetent teacher. I desperately wish there was a way to redo this past school year, I would NOT send my pet rock to the second grade at this school. Did I mention, the zero bullying policy is as ineffective as the teacher? Principal does not support the teachers and provided no help for the situation. Back to first grade teachers, Thank goodness they are there to offer support and encouragement!

my son had a kid spit in his face and the teacher would not even let my son go to the bathroom to wash his face. when the teacher was confronted, she acted as if my son lied to me until he spoke up and her words quickly changed. this was the beginning of the school year. ALL year, nearly every week my son experienced bullying in one form or another and the teacher repeated said that she was unaware or didnt know. again, when confronted by myself and had my son speak up she was speech less and couldnt say anything. i cant tell you what a drastic change in my sons self esteem i have seen this year. i had to start volunteering for the class just to see what was really going on and it was a freaking zoo in there. teacher literally has no backbone, no ability to control the classroom and LITERALLY had SECOND graders singing lullabys when lining up!!! I only WISH i was kidding about that! Absolutely absurd.

My Son has attended this school since Kindergarten. He is now (2014-2015) in the 4th grade. Not only is the school completely renovated and modernized but the teachers and staff have made it a priority to place individual emphasis on the students and they have done it. I have emails from every teacher he's ever had. I work 8 hours a day and still make time to visit and volunteer when I can and lots of parents do. No homework? Really? You better check your student's backpack every once in a while!. My Son comes home with a load of stuff for us to work with him on and we do it! I'm not sure what kinds of problems these other parents have had but this school and the teachers are excellent. I'm actually worried about placing my child in the local school when the time comes. This school is a joke! We moved from Tx. and I enrolled 2 boys into the school, one gifted, the other had an IEP. My one son, did well in 2nd grade, his teacher made an effort to stay in contact with me, and always encouraged him. In a matter of 4 months we had 4 IEP meetings and I begged them to help my son, while he was failing math and doing poorly on other areas, and his teacher along with the principal and everyone else in the meeting did nothing to change his IEP, order tests, do tutorials after school with him, instead blamed him, his teacher would yell at him because he'd get upset when he didn't understand math and need more help, they accused him of being a bad student and myself for taking him out of school to go to necessary specialists. WORST SCHOOL EVER!

This is was one of the worst things I have ever subjected my kids to. When we attended we had no spelling words, no AR reading, no homework ever. They did Dibels reading which is completely fluency based nothing on comprehension. I feel like the worst parent ever for taking my children to this school. The lack of leadership the school has is a disgrace.

After reading the below average reviews on this website I was concerned for my sons education. I thought of home schooling or driving him to another school district. It wasn't until I asked a parent at the park about the school and she said it best. The school does what it can and it is up to us parents to reinforce what they learn at home. The school provides a number of online resources for math, and reading improvement. I have been more than pleased with the education, communication provided by son's teacher Mrs. Strand an above and beyond educator. Parents we have to take responsibility for our children's education.

School is not that great. Very few teachers are friendly and care about the children. Majority of the staff are very hateful. Teachers have no clue how to keep kids attention and blame the child for wanting to more work to do. Teachers are generally new and right out of college. Moved my child to a school in Bethel school district. Has same ratings, but shouldn't! Bethel School District has been PHENOMINAL!!!
