In my opinion I am a junior as of 2025 there phone policy is just not good you should not be taking a students phone because 1 it’s not your decision to take a persons property 2 what if they have an emergency and they have to leave immediately. This school also show’s favoritism in certain people and certain racial groups. The teacher Brian Jackson does not get work done and is always late on assignments leading most students failing or falling behind. I would not recommend EVER going to GK.

As a parent, I made my child do online school, but felt like he needed more social interaction. After months of being begged, I let him go to GK for high school. After the first week, my child came back from school, and he immediately started learning this new words or also known as "slang." I don't even know what they mean, some of examples of what he's saying is "Gyatt" "Skibidi" "L Aura" "W aura" "Sigma" "Rizzler" "Baby Gronk" and more. He's also been PROFUSELY barking, howling, and saying quote on quote "Im the Alpha." As a parent, I had to pull him to of this school and bring him back to online school. This school needs better teachers, because I'm not sure what theyve been teaching them but this should not be he curriculum. This has made me have some of the worst experiences I've ever had as a parent, I would not recommend.

Physically masked my physically disabled son THEMSELVES. Clear Assault. Even tho I had 60 pages of medical docs and a letter from his specialist at Seattle Children's. The school board director, the airfield needs director, the school admin all agreed this was proper treatment of a child with a terminal illness who can't bring his face to his hands. Rest assured, they are 100% shame free on treating your child like this as well. Luckily, my son is verbal and told me what happened. IDK what happens I won't ever forget what this district did and continues to do.

Lack of training and accountability. Again... for them it is a numbers and ratings game.

Posted: February 6, 2019

No bully experience with my son except for the school employees themselves. The teacher I know should hold her self to a higher standard. Very rude..

Posted: February 6, 2019

Horrible! Like I said just because it’s a big new school doesn’t make it a better school than the rest.

Posted: February 6, 2019

None brought home by my son; at all...

Posted: February 6, 2019

I believe the course work complete is dedicated to their own personal success. (Ratings and numbers) not to help the students.

My son has regressed since attending this school. He would rather go back to his old school.

Posted: February 6, 2019

No accountability for their actions. No leadership by example.

This school will let your kids fall behind

I attended as a junior at Graham-Kapowsin, I am a minority and majority of this school is white. It's very hard to fit in at this school if you aren't white. The culture of this school isn't welcoming at all, I only spent a semester at this school, in the very first couple days I experienced racial slurs and was picked on because of it. You'd think that a school of great expectations the teachers would know better not to be bias towards minority students. The culture at the school is unwelcoming. I understand the area this school is in and mainly white but the students need to be taught more about being friendly and welcoming towards other races. I was sick of the way I was being treated at this school.

The teachers are great and are doing well. The Administrators are horrible. The front desk staff are rude.

My daughter is a sophomore at Graham Kapowsin High School. She started the school last year at the beginning of her freshman year. If your child is Hispanic or Black, this is a horrible school to attend. 95% of the staff are white and they target minorities, especially the administrators. They are a country school and have not done well with adjusting to minorities. The white students call the minority student racial slurs and administration does nothing to correct the behavior. I have filed a race discrimination complaint with the district and will transfer to another school in the district with more minorities.

This has been a wonderful tool for my child both educationally and socially. I only had one problem towards the end of this school year with an unprofessional teacher, but the issue was resolved. I was busy with day to day work but, I still made myself known and was physically present when needed for functions and for my son. I absolutely love the ROTC program here. Sgt. Sydney was awesome. We communicated almost weekly about what my son was and was not doing. He kept him on task there and I kept him on task at home. I almost hate to have to move just for this reason. I want my son challenged and with ROTC he was happy and challenged.

Awful, awful school. I am so happy my child will not be going there anymore. DONE. Lazy and rude office staff. Unprofessional teachers and disrespectful principals. I would recommend home schooling than ever sending another child to that school.

Posted: February 28, 2013

I agree with the parent below that the principal only looks out for the staff and not the students. There was a problem with a teacher and just trying to get in touch with a principal is almost impossible. They also refuse to switch my child out of that class, even though I do not feel comfortable with my child being in her class. She is not professional at all and has no business teaching children. We have only been here for a year and already have had problems with two teachers that say something that is offensive.

Poor principal whose sole outlook is staff first student second. Such a shame. There are some great teachers, but a bad apple that has made our experience less than desirable. The counselors are wonderful, but they are limited by the principal. Who favors some staff. If you are looking for student first, this may not be the place for your child. Our first child tried this school also, but we found it to be the same so she changed schools where she flourished.

We were fortunate to have all our 3 children attend GK and continue on to higher education, their AP, Honor's and Band classes were commended by our children s. My son enjoyed his band trips as they were both enjoyable and dynamic. The school provided a way for them to prep and be challenged for their upcoming higher education and at the same time enjoy their time as a High School student as one should. One has graduated from University and his two other siblings are within 1 and 2 years behind him and they all say that GK was instrumental in there educations.
