This school doesn't allow the making of memes. My son came home saying that his account was TERMINATED because he made a meme in a slide. I don't know whats wrong with this school but they need to sharpen up if they want a good review from me and my family.

Disciplinary procedure are more important than finding how or why. Homework, help with different learning styles are nonexistent.

Teachers and Administration at Ridgeline care more about rules and discipline than they do about educating our children. I hear immediately about a rule violation, corrective action, or discipline from teachers and Vice-Principal. A lot of attention is given to disciplinary matters, emails sent, letters written, plans to correct, etc.
However, when kids are struggling academically, even failing classes, I hear nothing. No communication from teachers or administration, no emails from teachers expressing concern or a plan to help a child be successful. No plans or support to help improve. No offer of assistance to kids or parents. Skyward online is about it and it's not always up to date, accurate, or helpful.
I think this school has lost sight of their primary mission to educate our children. If you have a choice don't send your kids here.

No, this school is not good with dealing with bullies. There are not very many "bullies" at this school but there are a lot of those bad kids that cuss and do really bad things. Discipline is not very good at this school. I've seen people say really bad stuff in the halls but never get in trouble. I have also seen really good kids in the halls that barely do anything bad and they do get in trouble. I've seen a really really good kid in the hall get a "STORM warning" for saying "fudge" because the teacher thought they said something else. This was a kid that never gets in trouble and they almost got a referral for saying "fudge"! That is unbelievable considering the fact that there are kids at this school that actually do say very very bad words and do very very bad things.

There are many classes at this school with mixed levels of knowledge on that subject and it is not handled very well. The smarter kids will be all caught up with their work and just sit there with nothing to do. I've literally been handed a crossword puzzle because I was caught up with work that was supposed to be due that week but was postponed to several weeks afterwards because some kids were not done. I feel like the more advanced kids are bored and not pushed or challenged as much as they could be. I feel like the slower kids could be helped more but in a way that does not leave the advanced kids with nothing to do. Some teachers are really bad at keeping kids focused so the teacher will get off topic and we will spend the whole class period not learning anything. Most kids are okay with that but there are also those few kids, like me, that actually want to learn something. People have different strengths and weaknesses but this could be better.

Yes, the few kids and teachers demonstrating leadership are very good at what they do. I just don't think that other kids take it very seriously and make it effective. There is a great leadership program but I don't think that the leadership makes a huge difference. I don't disagree or agree that leadership at this school is effective. I think it's neutral. They have great leadership assemblies and stuff too but the kids don't change.

Many kids at this school are very rude and have no respect for classmates and teachers. Many kids' language at this school is completely unacceptable. There is a very little amount of respect and compassion in these students in general. I believe that there could be but this school isn't doing a very good job at encouraging it.

There is a lot of bullying and cussing. Kids are very rude and they say a lot of really bad words. Most of the teachers are good but they don't do much about the bad kids. There are not many after school clubs or activities. The elective choices are not great. Most of the food is good (for school food, at least) but I have found mold in my food a couple of times. When I reported it, they didn't do anything besides offer me another. Yes, I want another moldy orange (not). I would definitely not recommend this school to anyone even though it may be better than Yelm Middle School.

Some teachers are incredible. Loving their job and passing it on to their students. Sports suffers because the coaches are just teachers looking for their stipend. Great environment if your child is well mannered and self motivated. So many kids with issues though

I kept telling my kids that once they hit middle school, it will get harder. WRONG! Not with this school. My son's NEVER get homework. I see math come through once in a while, but that's it. I had to check out a math book from their library since school books stay in the classroom. What happen to studying or trying to advance? Frankly I think the teachers must be lazy and not want to grade homework so they don't assign it. I am thankful to be moving out of WA state so that my children can have a better education. If you don't care what type of education your child gets, then sure this is a great school, if you do care, then you should really really do your research before enrolling in any Yelm School District schools.

This school is great. It does have strict rules and guidelines for behavior and if you are an inattentive parent or one that does not like to be involved with your childs learning or classroom issues or problems it is not the school for you. I have two more kids that are excited to be heading there. Teachers and coaching staff are great with communication and student preparation. This school benefits from a belief that you have to take responsibility for your own actions both in success and failure.
