We’ve had an exceptional experience at this school from day one. The teachers — from music and art to the core classroom educators — have been consistently supportive, caring, and invested in student success. Many hold master’s degrees and board certifications, exceeding what’s typical in nearby districts, which speaks volumes about their dedication and expertise.

The administration and PTA do an excellent job communicating about events and opportunities, and parent involvement was obvious right from “Back to School Night.” You really feel welcomed as part of a team working together for the kids.

If you’re reading reviews because you want your children to have a great school experience, my advice is: get involved. A strong partnership between families and schools benefits everyone. Research shows kids who thrive — both in school and in life — have parents who are present and engaged in their sports, studies, and daily growth.

This is not just a great school; it’s a great community. We feel lucky to be part of it.

The teachers and staff are 90 percent white. So if your white and asian this school is for you. Hindu, Mexican or African American. Yall run. They can care less about your complaints. They want all of you out. Oh and the Rich across the way in those big homes and gated sunrise community. They run it all. Super entitled.
Teacher and Principle will tell you they will work on how to make things right then turn it around on you. Straight gaslighted 101 here. Oh and the parking and pick up/ drop off is a nightmare.
You been warned. They Fake to your face. Just reached these teachers.

As a concerned parent, I feel compelled to share my experience at Edgerton Elementary. While the school boasts a promising educational environment, I have noticed some troubling aspects that cannot be ignored.

One significant issue is the perceived neglect of students by certain teachers. It seems that some educators fail to provide the necessary attention and support to their students, which can be detrimental to their academic and emotional growth.

Additionally, my Middle Eastern child faced distressing incidents due to his dietary restrictions. Students made fun of him for not being able to eat pork, highlighting a lack of understanding and empathy among the student body. The school should actively promote diversity and inclusivity, creating an environment where every child feels accepted and respected.

Regrettably, I have also observed a lack of action when it comes to addressing bullying incidents. Some students openly use racial slurs, such as the N-word, without facing appropriate consequences. This inaction sends a message that such behavior is permissible, which is deeply concerning and unacceptable.

Furthermore, it is disconcerting to learn that some teachers hold very conservative opinions outside of school. While everyone is entitled to their beliefs, it is essential that these opinions do not influence their teaching or the way they treat students of different backgrounds or beliefs.

In conclusion, Edgerton Elementary has room for improvement in fostering a more nurturing and inclusive environment. Teachers must actively engage with students and intervene in bullying situations promptly. The school administration should also take decisive action to address instances of racial insensitivity and ensure a safe and respectful atmosphere for all students. Collaboration between the school, parents, and the community can lead to positive changes that benefit every child's educational journey.

My son suffered hate crime called racial slurs and was bullied the lady’s at the office don’t pay attention to anyone coming inside and out my son has been interrogated by the staff at the school I feel like this school should have a zero bullying policy

I am extremely disappointed with the behavior of my child's school. It has come to my attention that the school has been engaging in practices that are completely unacceptable, such as judging students based on their race and interrogating them for hours over multiple days without informing their parents.

Furthermore, it is completely inappropriate for the school to allow students to judge their peers based on race. This only serves to perpetuate harmful stereotypes and divides among students.

It is clear that the school has some serious issues that need to be addressed. In order to fix these problems, the school needs to take immediate action to ensure that all students are treated with respect and fairness. This includes implementing strict policies against discrimination and ensuring that all students are treated equally, regardless of their race or other characteristics.

The school should also work to improve its communication with parents and make sure that they are informed of any disciplinary actions taken against their children. It is essential that parents be kept in the loop so that they can support their children and help them through any difficult situations.

Overall, it is imperative that the school takes swift and decisive action to address these issues and create a more positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Veteran mom here, and this is the least impersonal school and the worst experience we have ever had having our children here . They also think it's okay to interrogate your child for hours on multiple days and not inform the parents on what's going.
Also, who takes 2nd graders to a field trip the local college campus? What happened to zoo's and farm's?! I had a hard time keeping my own eyes open for that one. An out of tune school that needs lots of changes.

My bad review is not a reflection on the teachers who I can't praise enough for what they do. Thank you teachers! But for the principal and other staff.

I would reccomend not putting a 1st year, 21 year old, in charge of 6th grade class room. Other than that I do love the teachers!

Despite the lack of administrative support, most teachers at the school are veterans and have been at the school since the beginning. Teachers work amazing with what their given and make the most of the materials that they're able to use.

Up to 4th grade students are given worksheets. When they start getting "real" homework in 5th grade it overwhelms them to need to completely change their after school routine. If less worksheets were given and more writing assignments this wouldn't be such a shock for these students. Worksheets for homework show a lack of imagination and laziness on the school's behalf.

I feel that the teachers do a great job developing leaders in our community. Most of the students go on to leadership in Middle and High Schools.

I like a lot of things about this school but the principal is absolutely horrid. She doesn't care one iota about the students and puts off parent's concerns. I understand that we cannot pick our I know my child won't mesh with a specific learning style I should be able to say NOT this teacher. The principal is clearly more concerned with her looks and getting a district job than she is with her current position. I feel like the entire school clashes with her. Teachers try to avoid her because she has no idea what classroom management is (was never a classroom teacher), the PTA cannot work with her without her micromanaging EVERYTHING they do (causing a beloved event to be cancelled last minute), and most importantly parents do not feel she is approachable.

I fear our once amazing school is going to be pretty meager until our principal moves on to ruin something else.

I think they teach procrastination on homework. Giving assignments that can easily be done in 30 is stretched out for a week.

This is not a "great" school. Only people who believe this are the ones who went to worst schools or work at this school. The office staff are very unfriendly and barely acknowledges anyone who walks through the door. Teachers are always saying "our main focus are on the kids," but I don't feel ALL teachers are this way at the school. Worst school ever. Maybe is they didn't have over 700 students in an elementary the focus would be true. I bet the Principal can't even name ever student.

My children have attended Edgerton since it opened. My son started kindergarten here and now is graduating 6th grade. I have had a pleasurable experience here. My kids needs are constantly being met. The staff and teachers are amazing to work with. The counselor mr. Hansen is a wonderful man and very insightful especially dealing with high needs or special needs children and ways to help their education be the best experience! I love this school and give it a total thumbs up!! Their safety and education is top priority. The kids all love the staff and the staff knows most kids by name. It's a friendly warm environment, yet very sophisticated with pilot programs constantly being implemented. :)

Edgerton is a great school. Very active volunteers in classrooms, plenty of parent support for teachers. Awesome staff and leadership. I would highly recommend this school to ayone considering moving into this area.
