I am very frustrated with the principal and counselors. My concern is revolving around bullying. My daughter attended this school and got verbally bullied. There's lots of gossiping and racism in this exact school. They don't teach nothing. They allow you to be on your phone the whole period, especially P.E. My daughter found no safety in this school. Whenever she told her teachers they didn't care because they were close with the student who was bullying my child. They took sides and didn't even question it. I recommend attending to another school.

I do not recommend any guardian let their children attend this chaotic school, as someone who was there for my whole middle school period, I'd like to speak out about the teachers and students, first I would like to clarify these students no longer attend the school but once did, now to start off with this whole situation, the teachers? Horrible! Absolutely terrible my god. These teachers treat their students Horrible! You get bullied? They could care less! You tell your consular? They ignore you! nobody in this school acts like an adult. Not even the teachers. The students will constantly yell racist comments and pick on other students. Will not recommend enrolling you child in this school for the love of God! Send you kids somewhere safe, another school that actually cares for their students unlike lochburn

My son started his 7th grade year at Lochburn Middle School. He was excited to attend after seeing the many options offered for electives, this was very short lived. By the end of first quarter my son had no work given to him in STEM tech, no projects because apparently the school had no funding. This left the students allowed to be on their phones all period. In gym, same issue, not enough equipment for everyone, they are allowed to go play on their phones the entire period.
My son comes home every day frustrated with the lack of discipline. He tells me that children are allowed to curse, use racist/hateful speech, allowed to talk about doing unspeakable things to girls. He has approached multiple teachers to voice his concerns and explain how it makes him feel only to be dismissed.
The administration is a joke. Have a problem? They won't respond to a call or email. When you try to talk to them at the school they are much too busy. There is ZERO communication between the teachers and the parents. They harass you to download parentsquare (an application used for communication) only to never use it properly. You won't know what your child's teachers emails are unless you demand them from their advisory teacher who is apparently the only one you should ever need to speak with.
Testing is a threat. Telling any child "if you want to see your friends again here next year make sure you get good scores on the test" is appalling. The test is to fund their school, to measure their teaching capabilities, if the students do poorly the educators need to reflect on their own abilities! If the administration would actually follow through with the rules presented in their handbook maybe the kids would take school a little more seriously and you would find much happier educators!
This school is appalling and if you look at the test scores and ratings of ALL Clover Park schools you find a pattern. While the schools struggle for funding their superintendent makes six figures for a failing district! I urge you to really research your children's schools before placing them in a district that will fail them.

This was the worst school my children have ever attended. The principal and his incompetent staff all need to be fired!

They rarely answer their emails or update grades on skyward.

They not only stand by and watch bullying take place, they do nothing to prevent it from happening again.

Very poor and disheartening. Half of the teachers are burned out and not passionate about their career

There are alot of underline problems at this school but the one that bothers me is 24%out of 100 passed the testing at the end of last year. 24%!!! That is a huge problem to me si this new year starts and to deal with this problem we hear that they are starting another whole new learning system just like the begging of last year they try one fail at it than try another one

My son has Aspergers. We've struggled YEARS to get the help he needs from schools. For the first time, he has a safe place to attend school where he gets the help he needs while also getting an advanced curriculum. The team there is amazing! The principal there is new this year and he is wonderful! The vice principal is awesome as well. My son's special education team is just absolutely incredible. I'm not on-call anymore like I was at other schools. My son loves school now and is finally making friends. I cannot begin to express how profoundly Lochburn Middle School has helped our family.

I am a parent of a sixth grader who has some learning difficulties and started Lochburn in September of last year. Since starting this school my son has only had homework maybe two times this year. The teachers have a bad attitude and my son has gone from winning an award for reading in his last school to failing. I do not want him going back next year.

Lochburn middle school My son hates this school he was injured and the staff were more concerned with the other students rights when asked I was not issued a incident report and denied any information now my son stuck with the joy of looking at the student that chipped his tooth

My son attended Lockburn until our family moved to Parkland where we purchased our first home. Alan always loved going to school. Yes,he was bullied at this school just as there are bullies at every school. When ever he told a teacher or Principal of an incident with another child the staff always took care of it. The teachers at this school really care about the students success. We always had great communication with all of our son's teachers, and they even went out of their way to set up an email system with us for communication. Since our son has started attending another school he has had nothing but problems, and we as the parents have not been able to communicate with any of his teachers no matter how much we've tried. Now we are going for an out of district transfer to get our son back into Lockburn because we feel they have a much better learning environment for our son.
