Great teachers who really care; Amazing responsive leadership. Sometimes things can be more organized but in one word I am grateful for them.

As a senior in high school, I have practically no math skills. This school, despite being the SCIENCE and MATH Institute has no quality math teachers. Despite the fact that I am a good student (I take notes, always do well on test, and finish my homework) my Math portion of my SAT was below benchmark. because the teachers fail to properly educate the students.
On top of the math being below par, there are no good teachers for physics, and there is only one good teacher for chemistry so half of the students get a poor education on science. At a school that is supposed to be all about Science.
On top of the poor math and science classes, there are practically no electives. Your choices are: AP classes, PE, or Introduction to Art. As a freshman they had some good electives (such as choir and guitar) but by my junior year (when I would actually be allowed to take such electives) there was no funding, and therefore no more electives (they care more about SOTA and IDEA than SAMI). I was forced to retake the same classes over just to fill my schedule. When covid hit, and I got to choose online school, I was thrilled because I was actually able to pick a class that I hadn't already taken.

Before I came to Sami I didn't care about school that much, it felt like more of a chore than anything else. But coming here was definitely the best decision I have made so far, the people are inspiring and the courses are challenging. The teachers really make you feel like they actually care and that their not just their to get paid but to help you.
