They dont do homework and grades are not updated often enough.

My daughter struggles. Their only offer is the after school program which is packed and poorly monitored.

My daughter has been threatened and bullied. Staff has been told and has done nothing.

Staff has a tendency to bully students as well

Terrible. Ive heard from other parents that the vice principal has talked down about my daughter to other students and parents.

This is the worst school I have gone to, seems as though lots of Tacoma schools are this bad. I’m going to switch to online school.

The main thing this school lacks in my opinion is people who actually care about kids & whether or not they succeed. Half the teachers I've met are decent at best, office staff is very rude to children & parents, counselors are definitely good for nothing, & students are left to "clown" eachother as they please. They also don't have a system to inform parents of anything. No flyers, no calls, no emails, nothing. They don't even inform parents about conferences. They just set days, don't tell anyone, & if you show up that's great, if not, oh well. I've had to deal with counselors & it was very uncomfortable. I couldn't imagine how my student was supposed to turn to these people for comfort or help. Counselors should be top of the line in middle schools since there are so many raw emotions & intense feelings going on with these kids. Even I felt intimidated by these counselors. They were rude, confrontational, didn't listen, & didn't care. If I could redo my child's 8th grade year, she would've never stepped foot on First Creek property. If you have a child in this area, send him/her to Destiny Middle School instead. This school is not worth it.

Students don't get homework at this school.

Posted: February 22, 2018

They don't communicate with the kids about assignments, how they're doing, or how they can do better.

Posted: February 22, 2018

I haven't seen it if it does.

Posted: February 22, 2018

Never meet the principal but everyone else in the office is extremely rude.

Teachers just let students "clown" eachother in the classroom. My student's called me on several occasions about kids being mean in class. Teachers think they're joking cause they're laughing but It's sincerely hurtful.

It truly depends on the students situation because depending on if you want them to be honest or show integrity between themselves and another peer than it just depends on that .

I went to First Creek for my 6th-8th grade years and the only thing they need to fix is the way they handle bullying situations. Other than that it is a good school to get your child's education

I am an 8th grade student at first creek! And what i would have to say about it is, it has given me so many opportunities, that i cant thank them enough! For 2012-2013 i was a 7th grader, now i am going into 8th. I have made so much friends! And especially the teachers! They are so hard working!! In class they make sure everyone understands what the lesson is about, they help each student individual if he/she needs help. The principal is so encouraging! He is my friend! I didn't go to this school for 6th grade, but i wish i did! This school is fantastic! If you want your child to be safe, and in a learning environment! This is the school you need!! :) :) :)

I am the parent of a 6th grader. The school is beautiful. Very new - about 3 yrs. old. It looks more like a college than a middle school. The principal is a strong leader and motivating example for the students. Everyone at this school is dedicated to making each student succeed.
