South High has truly been the right place for my student to shine, providing opportunities unavailable at other neighboring schools. As a three-sport athlete, leader, and scholar, my son has excelled here. He has access to challenging AP courses and benefits immensely from the Freshman Academy. This program is crucial for students transitioning into high school, offering a dedicated counselor, dean, and support personnel who are in the classrooms daily. Their focus is on meaningful support, not just consequences, ensuring every freshman has the tools to succeed. South High School is invested in the whole student

The only positive aspect of this school is a few of the staff members.

Overall, this has been one of the worst schools I've attended.
Theres a lot of bullying, both verbal and physical, and the staff dont seem to care enough to step in and stop it. The elevator often breaks down, leaving students and staff who rely on it unable to reach their upstairs classes. On top of that, I believe some staff members arent fit to be working in a school environment.

Both of my kids have had a great experience at South. The teachers care and are always willing to communicate. They have gone above and beyond for my kids. The coaches work really hard to teach teamwork and how to help each other. I would say that all the staff at South puts in a lot of effort to make sure our kids are safe and feel welcomed.

I graduated from here last year and am now attending an out of state university. I can honestly say that I am more prepared not only for college but for life. South taught me that diversity isn't a scary thing but is beautiful and beneficial which is definitely different from the other two schools in Cheyenne. I had the opportunity to attend East and I can't put into words how glad I am I didn't take it. I wouldn't be as successful or as good of a person without the students, teachers, and other staff at South.

This school is like most of those here in the South triad of Cheyenne with one exception- we are mostly low income, two parent working households. Our school tries to help students but with parents not supporting education like the other areas of town, test scores are very low. Teachers are ok but quite a few are influenced by the social justice folks moving here from Colorado. When minority groups are bullied, the staff is on it but when minority groups are doing the bullying- NOTHING happens. Its really not the best environment. Most who care about their childs education while living in Cheyenne should simply homeschool.

South High is a fabulous school that i am proud to have 2 graduates from. My third child is a current student taking all AP classes and my youngest is excited to be a bison

I have three student's at South High. Best school ever. The teachers are awesome, they are always willing to help and communicate with me on a regular basis. Love this school!

South is a state of the art school with so many opportunities available to those who choose to attend. We have been involved in the school and community since it opened in 2009 knowing that our children would attend this school and we have been very pleased with the efforts of the administration and all those that are associated with South High. Because we have made the effort to be involved and supportive, we have seen and been party to the outstanding opportunities available to these kids. This is truly a community minded school with staff and kids alike who make the effort everyday to build this school and programs. Tons of school pride and spirit. Best kept secret among schools in Cheyenne.
