We are so happy at Anderson! My kids just started there this year. Mr. Gorman is the best principal ever, he knows all the kids by name and is present at every recess. He frequently visits classrooms throughout the day. The front desk staff are so friendly and helpful. Julie is the sweetest lady youll ever meet. Its a great environment for my children to learn in and they both instantly felt welcome there.
My only concern, and I brought this up with my kids teachers, is that the kids arent required to wash their hands before lunch. They go to lunch from specials or recess and only wash their hands if they take the initiative to go to the bathroom themselves. I would prefer that hand washing before lunch is worked into the daily routine for all students to help prevent the spread of sickness.

We came to go to parent teacher conference. The school was very clean and had great hallway decorations. Overall the school was very inviting and had a great atmosphere!

We came from a private school. I was really worried that I wasnt making a good decision by moving her. Not only was it the right decision, Im mad at myself for not sending her to Anderson sooner. The love and enthusiasm for the students starts from the moment you walk through the door. Julie always has a huge smile and you can tell she is happy to be there.

Math homework comes home almost nightly. It isnt graded but is reviewed by the teacher. In addition, kids are expected to read 30 minutes per night minimum.

Mrs. Woods is absolutely amazing. Her love and enthusiasm for teaching is very evident. My daughter has gone from hating school and reading to loving it under Mrs. Woods!

It is part of the curriculum. My child brought home her character lesson for review. They get parties after receiving compliments from others for behavior.

I see the principal everywhere. When the students walk through the door, he greets them by name. During the walk-a-thon, I witnessed him out visiting with the students. When I ate lunch at the school, I saw him in the lunchroom interacting with the kids. Every time I have been there at dismissal, he is out with the kids. Its obvious the kids love him - when he enters, the kids run to him and start shouting his name.

This is our first year at Anderson, so far I'm really happy with the staff and the job they are doing. My only complaint is about the speech pathologist my child sees and the fact that there is no real standards for how they deal with teaching the kids from school to school. While this isn't something I feel is directly related to the school itself, and rather the pathologist personal opinion, it would be nice if there was some sort of standard baseline for all schools on how they teach their speech so the child doesn't feel like what she was previously taught somewhere else isn't wrong. All in all I really like the school and the staff. I would recommend this school to anyone that lives within the boundaries to attend.

I have never in my life seen such spoiled ill mannered children. When issues are reported to teachers and senior staff the problems go unresolved. The anti bully campaign in this particular school is a joke. I see on a daily basis children getting slammed into walls, called names, degraded, and humiliated.....in front of staff members and nothing is done to stop it. Will be removing my child as soon as possible.

Anderson's teachers and the look of the school are amazing. But the principle favors certain students and doesn't give them the right punishments for there actions. Children get hit by others and nothing is done even when it is reported.
