Excellent All-Around High School
UP is a fantastic high school that offers strong academics (including AP and Sandhills Community College courses), competitive sports with great coaches, and a vibrant music program. More importantly, the school teaches values that last a lifetime.
I have one son currently attending and two who graduated, went on to college, and now have successful careersthanks in large part to the foundation UP provided. Highly recommend UP for a well-rounded, meaningful high school experience.

I have 2 children at Union Pines and I love it! We specifically chose to live in our home because of the schools and Im very happy with that decision! Im sad to see the area grow so fast and I am hoping it doesnt change the quality of the schools.

Based on my kids opinions, this is a decent school. Definitely a step up from Crains Creek for them. Usually the office staff is not very approachable. Some of the teachers are easy to get in touch with and respond relatively quickly. I would suggest training in not being biased against students, as one experience one of my children had here clearly showed the nursing teachers preference over certain students.

I am a freshman at Union Pines and I would say this school is very rascist, homophobic, and slightly sexist. Not that the teachers are this way, most of my teachers have been good, but the students are not.

I was so disappointed when my child graduated from this school. When preparing to take a college entrance test, I realized she did not know a noun from a verb. She was in all honors classes in high school, and graduated with a very high grade point average, but she was severely lacking in skills and knowledge. Shame on Union Pines. A student should not be allowed in honors classes without proof that they know the basics first. My child was no where near ready for college when she graduated from this school.

If your son or daughter plays an instrument than this is the school for them! The band is truly outstanding, winning many accolades and competitions. There are so many programs, clubs and activities to choose from, that every student can find an interest here!
