"Affluent Golf Community"

Pinehurst does promote a nice community feel and has wonderful events in the park, such as "Live at 5" or seasonal activities like parades and tree lighting. There are also amazing parks, such as Camelot Park and a new water park that opened the summer of 2016.
Pinehurst can have a bit of a 'snooty' reputation but I think it is more relaxed than it used to be. It used to be completely 'country club' and it has become more accepting of young families and singles. There are a lot of great restaurants and there is a not to miss coffee shop in the old post office, called "The Roast Office" -- great place!
