When I attended Crains Creek, I was the subject of multiple acts of violence and bullying. Even having cameras, I was attacked in the region where they were not available. Even with multiple violations, the school did absolutely nothing about it. I eventually transferred schools, and learned what a good learning environment looked like. Crains Creek has too many students to effectively teach, and to keep bullying at bay. The week after I left, there were threats of weapons, and a student almost died from injuries received during a fight at the hands of a student.
The teachers effectively communicated the core standards of their classroom and provided some useful information. I always found them accommodating, however I have always been considered far advanced for any grade level. The classrooms were by far the safest space on campus, and I will forever thank the teachers for providing me with a safe haven.

Middle school is rough anywhere. There has been a lot of change in staff, including teachers, principals and bus drivers. One of my children had an iep with this school and started out with a 501. We removed the 501, which only brought on problems due to ongoing medical appointments and such. Im also not thrilled with the counselor at Crains Creek. It seemed to me she is not suitable for the middle school environment. My daughter and her friends were very uncomfortable around her. Some of the teachers are phenomenal, while others are a bit lacking in organization and allowing their biases against certain students to influence how they grade them or how they work with them. Im sure its difficult, but due to the nature of their job, I feel that some training on how to avoid personal bias when teaching the children is necessary, and learn how to be more compassionate.

Rose Cooper and Chad Chisholm worked hard to fill the school with dedicated teachers--too bad they are leaving.

Students reported bullying and there are cameras. Nothing was done about it except that the students who reported it became the targets. Some of the adults do not model anti bullying behavior.

Troubling. I think the continued decline on the Greatschools ranking is in target.

As an example for making the right choices, we have experienced teachers who think showing Rated R movies to middle school students is appropriate.

I absolutely loved working here for the past year! The faculty and staff really care about all of the students here.
