I could say a lot for this school, there are a ton of bad reviews on this website alone, many dating to over a whole decade ago. I can reassure you that NOTHING has changed at this school. My child is taught poorly, there are so many issues with bullying as many have reported. This school overall is a train wreck and NEEDS to be SHUT DOWN entirely. Please DO NOT let your child go here, the school may advertise itself as a good place but I can promise you it's FAR from that.

Wishing there was another high school in Richmond County for my child to attend. Bullying is real there. and no one wants to do anything about it. They continue to point fingers at others . Yet there is no solution . It’s a distraction to the other students as well . But once the child defend themselves then they get the same punishment . The worse school ever . Even when I attend.

Richmond Senior was a nice welcome after being in Charlotte Mecklenburg schools where kids were beaten up unconscience in the bathrooms, robbed, bullied, parents fighting in the main office, and gang violence was throughout the school. My child can go to school without having to see classmates die every year from gang violence. The teachers also are not under sever duress as in Charlotte Meck and can spend more time with my child instead of discipline. The safe and orderly movement of students at Richmond Senior has kept my kids out of harms way.

How does this have a four star rating? Please don't believe that. I graduated in June of 2013, and most of my graduating class did not go to top notch schools like one review said. If you, or your child has a decent head on their shoulders, I would recommend them attending high school elsewhere. I had a great calculus and history teacher, who were the rare few whom actually cared about my well being. The other teachers are okay too, but the administration is horrible. There is no freedom at this school. You can't even sit in the hallway during lunch to just relax for a few minutes without being told that you have to leave. There is no trust there, and the administrators act like they care. Coming from a student with high acedemic goals, this was a bad three years and never, ever again will I go back.

There are only a few excellent teachers, and the rest are coaches. Well, that is a tiny over statement, but not unreasonable. I went into the school because my daughter was bullied by her fellow "honor" students, and she had repeatedly written complaints about it. I had checked her out of school as she was in tears and I demanded to speak to the principal, Keith McKenzie. He apparently was "busy at the moment". So to say the least I never saw him. Also, my daughter had things thrown at her in class because she stood up for herself and told a few students to stop looking at her paper. So they threw paper at her right in front if the teacher. And shockingly, they did nothing. My daughter ran out and told the counselor who had given a few of the bullies, "their first warning". Thank goodness she left there. If you can avoid sending your child here, do it. Unless they play football.

Do not let your children go to this school unless you want your kids to learn a code of ethics that is equal to trash. Especially if you want your young adult to join the football team. This is a summary of the events that transpired: Jack Britt High School and RCHS were playing a game of football on the 13 of September 2013. First half of the game score is 14 JBHS and 13 RCHS. RCHS kicker missed a kick. BIG DEAL RIGHT? It must have been a big enough deal to send the kicker out to practice his field goals DURING the half time show. During JBHS marching band's show. The judgment behind that decision lacks any form of human decency, respect, and sportsmanship. It also became a problem when the band set up for the finale and the color guard was on the 10 yard line, mind you, the entire marching band is 135 members strong. So the kicker, tech, and the other team member continued to practice, sending the ball right over these two young girls heads. Thankfully no one was hurt. Despite the vocal concerns of parents, the coaches allowed this to continue and the high school children showed nothing but disrespect. I would not want any child of mine learning that garbage like this is ok.

Richmond Senior High is a school that really only worries about there football program. the teachers will sometime help you with your work and testes but most of the teachers are slack. you have to get one of the good teachers and there are a hand full of good teachers. And the Principles are really not that social with the students here. And the school fees are ridiculous! they worry to much about the uniforms and id cards.

Terrible school. There is no respect for those with financial need. This school requires massive and unecessary fees that only benefit athletics. Too much emphasis on football as well. As a parent I must say my child has been bullied horribly and the school ignores it. My child went to another high school before transferring to this one and absolutely none of these problems existed. Thanks RSHS for making my child, and my time in this dull county undoubtedly horrible.
