Do not consider this school! We were told that the school is ironically named because they do not extend any Grace to children, nor do they operate on Christian values. They are a money-making sports institution. You will not see students and families from the school at the church. I can't say enough about how poorly this place is run. There is no interest in academics, and colleges are very leery of applicants from here. Students are not expected to show any interest in learning, there is little no homework, and teachers can be treated with blatant disrespect bc they are expendable. Do a Facebook search for all of the families (we've been told more than 20 a year) who have been asked to leave due to "administrative prerogative" -not because of any real educational or disciplinary concerns, with no warning. I can't imagine how damaging this is to children to suddenly be ripped out of a school with no warning or reason. They recruit athletes from around the state and provide housing, I'm not sure how this became the focus at a supposedly Christian School. The church has been close to closing before for financial scandal, and it feels like the school only cares about money. If you are here for Christian values, or a good education-you will see you are in the wrong spot.
The special needs pre-school is the same way, they have walked numerous families to the door within 5 mins of meeting them because, surprise, they actually have special needs and the school does not want to work with these children,

The staff and leadership at GCS is excellent. From academics to all areas of programming, my children have excelled. Our children had dual enrollment opportunities that allowed them to complete the majority of their first two years of their college degree in high school. Thank you Grace for all the support and spiritual guidance!

We explored private schools across 4 counties before moving to the general area 7 years ago. We knew right away Grace was the place where we wanted our kids to be! Back then, we were so happy with Grace — now, we are blown away! I've never seen an organization work so hard to improve and continually set the bar higher. My kids now repeatedly tell us they are glad we picked Grace -- especially now that they are in middle school and see a lot of other schools as they compete in sports. The leadership is great. The principals and policies are sound. And best of all, God is working a good work there!

Grace Christian School is full of top educators, great students and families as well as wonderful programming. Our children have attended Grace from the start of their education. Our daughter is graduating this year and our son is a freshman. Their experiences in the classroom and in athletics has been ideal. We are grateful for all of the teachers, staff and leadership at Grace!

Grace Christian School is all-around the best schooling experience I could hope for as a parent. My children are thriving spiritually, physically, and academically. The staff and teachers are true professionals and genuinely the best of the best.

I am very sad to write this review about a Christian school. My family moved from Cary - NC to Sanford last year and my 13 year old daughter attended Grace in Sanford. We come from another private Christian school in Cary - NC and we thought Grace Christian School in Sanford would be a good fit for our daughter. Unfortunately mistake! During the year, my daughter often witnessed discriminating and bullying behavior against other children. Many children are criticized for the simple fact of having different opinions or points of view or being different from others in some way.
Students and teachers make use of racist comments openly. No incentive to development of integrity, compassion and respect.
There is no room to grow as an individual, with your own aspirations. Lack in management and communication. I recommend that if you are looking for a place to be a reference in your child's life, don't choose this school.

Grace is a wonderful environment for my children. They have standards of excellence in their facilities, staff, leadership, curriculum, and overall direction of the school. We wouldn't go anywhere else!

The BEST investment I could make! We are so blessed to have found Grace Christian School and are grateful for the foundation that they are helping lay for my children academically and spiritually.

Their teachers are not only incredibly qualified, they also go above and beyond to make my child feel loved and accepted.

Posted: January 27, 2020

The complements my children receive when we are out in public about how kind and respectful they are could not be accomplished if the place they spend 8 hours a day were not helping us to build that into their character.

Posted: January 27, 2020

They truly have a heart for every student. They take time to learn the needs and goals families have for their child and together you partner to help reach those goals!

Posted: January 27, 2020

Absolutely! The Learning support program and staff go above and beyond. When my children came to GCS they were behind. This school didn’t try to overlook the gaps, instead, they started the kids at their present level and quickly caught them up, all the while building them up in the areas where their strengths where. Some of those ways were through their fantastic fine arts and STEM programs.

Open communication is key. Having a middle school girl there is a great partnership between us as her parents and her teachers. Even the smallest issues are handled with care, and scriptural wisdom.

The Head of School (Mr. Shumway) has the ability to connect with parents, students and staff.

Posted: October 19, 2017

Grace has a great Learning Support Program that helps students that need one on one help at various levels with a full time staff to accommodate and facilitate the many learning needs.

We love Grace Christian School. Simply put, our experience at Grace has been wonderful. The staff challenge the students while caring for their spiritual development. If you want your child to be successful, enroll at Grace.

There isn't a balance in this area. While the leadership is trying turn this "ship," it's not where it needs to be at this time. Homework should be assigned as necessary, not as a routine process because it has always been done. More parents want to see value of time spent versus quantity. I am pulling for you Grace to get this right.

Teachers care about the academic, spiritual and character development of the students. They feel like partners with us as parents. Consistent communication is the key to this success.

Posted: October 19, 2017

High expectations with biblical correction and consistency with leadership and teachers who demonstrate these characteristics.

Strong Academics!! Faith based education!! My 8th grader loves the school! The teachers know how to connect with the students- important at this age! My 1st grader came to the school behind grade level, but she has made remarkable strides. Solid leadership! We never made the private school choice before, but the move here gave no other option. I'm glad we enrolled our children in Grace!!

I can't say enough wonderful things about Grace Christian! We pulled our children out of the Harnett County public system on a Friday morning and had no idea where we were going to send them Monday morning. Harnett County was THAT bad. We toured 5 schools that day and the second we walked into Grace we knew that was where we belonged. The headmaster, Bill Carver, made us feel so welcomed, like we had been attending the school for years. My children are flourishing wonderfully at the school and we plan to keep them here through high school.

I can honestly say I would not give this school any stars. They make promises and intentions that are not kept. They make u feel like you're going around in circles trying to get answers. Very disappointing.

My son has learning disabilities, but is a great kid. We were promised certain things that were never followed through. Thought we were sending our son here to get a good Christian education, but because he wasn't easy to teach they just tossed him aside. Very disappointed especially since we had begun going to church there as well. We would not recommend this school.
