From my experiences with this school I would highly suggest parents find another school to enroll their children in. This school does not provide a safe environment free of violence, discrimination, and harsh punishment. Instead they allow bullying which leads to children being severely harmed physically as well as emotionally. Just like the case with my son who is currently in 3rd grade and has been bullied the past 2 years now by the same students and as a result has suffered numerous concussions. To which the principals have stated it was all "accidents" to keep from doing their sworn duties and punishing the bullies full extent. They even had a meeting with me about a 504 which was supposed to be to catch my child up in his grades in order to be promoted since he can only do 3 hours a day due to the medical conditions from the concussions and instead they started to use the meeting to lash out at me and my husband, called my child some very cruel names, and stated clearly they was going to not honor the 504 but instead retain/fail him as a means of punishment for us even bringing up the acts of bullying to anyone higher up. So no Westmoore Elementary School does not provide students with any type of disability the support and accommodations they require to succeed like other students. The teacher even refuses to send any of my child's work home which I have begged of her numerous times. In my experience this school's staff members and this includes the principal as well as guidance counselor does not include the guardians/parents in their children's learning experiences at all. The teachers at Westmoore Elementary School as well as the other staff members are rude, and cranky when approached about your children's progress, as well as them standing by and watching bullying happen to your children and doing absolutely nothing about the matter at all. Instead they lash out at the child being bullied as they did my son and he was even made to sit the whole rest of the day after sustaining a very serious concussion to the head in class and nor myself or my husband or his family doctors was called at all. I had to find out my child had something wrong with him at the end of the school day once he was sent home on the bus late that evening. This is not how a school should be ran at all, and the principal has even suspended my child wrongly all because he made an attempt to get help for the bullying. Please do not send your children to this poorly ran school.
