My child is a A/B honor roll student who stay to himself, was tardy by 1 to 2 minutes 4 times for the school year 22-23, according to his first period teacher. Each time the teacher notified me via phone or text message, and I thank the teacher for keeping me informed. I explain to his first period teacher our situation and that he was not being irresponsible he also has the task of insuring that his 9, 7 and 6 year-old siblings get on the school bus. The school response was to place him in ISS for two days all day with no work. It didn't matter that his single parent called the school expressing concern about his education. He was just a kid that didn't fit in their circle of kids that are pursuing a higher quality of education. They just wanted to punish him, make an example out of him. Instead of helping him and understanding why he again 1 to 2 minutes tardy, not missing that period block, just tardy. (Repeat, I explained our situation!) He and I talked to the teacher and the ISS personal and explained ourselves for nothing. We understand now, he doesn't look like an honor student, so you choose not to educate him! Parents don't let them diminish your child education, our children matter, my child education matters.

This school has no clue what its doing. Their focus is on student athletes and not education. Telling parents their kids have state tests and what time to get here and then tell us we can pick up our kids when they get their phones back when they are done with the test. This is the 2nd year in a row I'm sat out here for an hour and a half after I get a text from my kid saying they are done with the test. And the school still cant tell me when they will be released even though tons of kids are being dropped off for the next round of finals. Was told Wednesday the test is today (Friday) but got a call every day this week to tell us about senior events and sport events. Dont send your kid here if education is important to you or you want to be involved in your childs education. Even teachers arent involved in the childs education here. My kid is finishing up sophomore year and has talked to her counselor 3 times since starting high school. And it was only after I contacted them first.

the teachers are amazing but the majority of the students are really focused on drama and it typically interferes with the learning

I have only attended a couple of orientations with my daughter, but I believe the school deserves a high rating based on our first impressions.
