U-Pick Strawberries in San Diego

Strawberries in San Diego

It’s strawberry season in San Diego, and the best place to go is the Carlsbad Strawberry Company, across from LEGOLAND. After a hot day at Legoland we decided to stop into their stand to get a basket of fresh, juicy strawberries…and oh my, they were good! They were gone before we got on I-5. Picking strawberries in San Diego is a great tradition to start, or just a delicious snack.

Carlsbad Strawberry Company is open 9am-5pm every day. The company has been in business for over 40 years. There are about 80 aces of strawberry fields and they harvest January through July. You can purchase pre picked baskets, or pick them yourself. It's fun to go picking in the fields and go home with a basket of the perfect berries.

Of course there are other ways to obtain these beauties if you have a hankering. Many of San Diego’s Farmer’s Markets have fresh strawberries and the Carlsbad Strawberry Company has a farm stand at the fields of freshly picked strawberries. They also wholesale fresh produce to the public at their warehouse in Carlsbad.

For more information about the history of the company, how they manage their strawberry crop and wholesale information, check out their website, they also have a list of San Diego’s Farmer’s Markets!
