Live at the beach while stationed at NAS Mayport, Florida! #1 Naval Station Mayport Base Housing The first thing I would suggest to anyone PCSing to Naval Station Mayport is to check out the new base housing ! It is amazing ! I am 100% serious when I say that Mayport's base housing starts right on the Atlantic Ocean . Now of course only a select few Admirals, Captains, and job specific houses are located ocean front but the rest of the on base housing is all within walking distance to the Atlantic Ocean. House hunting in East Arlington Neighborhoods Have you received orders to Naval Station Mayport, Florida ? We did, twice. We lived in Jacksonville, Florida for 7 years total over 2 different tours. I graduated from college in Jacksonville, worked part time at a Hallmark store, taught first grade for 2 years, and then spent 3 years as a stay at home mom there. Some things are just so hard to capture if you haven't experienced them. Like the commute North on th e George Washington Parkway in the mornings. This morning, I was barreling down the parkway to my office to blow up balloons for an Open House. There was a huge blanket of fog over the river and hundreds HUNDREDS of ducks sitting peacefully by the shoreline. I had to slow down to take it all in an amazing sight to behold.
