"Quiet and safe"

This neighborhood is mostly military owned & rented. Lots of amenities. Quiet and safe; each road ends in a cul-de-sac so unless you're on one of the main roads, there's no through-traffic.

If you are considering buying, please know that the HOA is VERY strict; a rules agreement should be included in your purchase agreement so you will know what you are getting into. That being said, the strict enforcement ensures high curb appeal and steady property values.

The only downside is that if you are heading home from base during standard duty hours traffic is severe (it's 15 miles and it will take you an hour to get home).

The area has a LOT of locally-owned businesses & restaurants. One of the best farmer's markets in the area. Conveniently located to museums & concert venues. Busch Gardens and Wolf Lodge are a short drive away.

"Hidden Gem in Hampton Roads"

Absolutely perfect location for anyone stationed at the Newport News Shipyard. The commute is around 15 minutes across the James River Bridge. A wonderful family friendly community, with lots of planned events. We can walk to the community shopping center with a Food Lion, restaurants, hair salon, doctors office, etc. We love that we feel like we are in the country, but can be in the city within 15 minutes. Very close to two wonderful YMCAs! This is truly a hidden gem!

Update: We love the schools! The school bus picks up right in front of our house also! Score! ;) The Christmas parade in Smithfield was so cute! We've only been here 6 months and felt so welcomed here. I highly recommend this community.

"Country Living in Hampton Roads"

Eagle Harbor in Carrollton, VA is a small town in Isle of Wight County, close to Smithfield. Just a few years ago, it was a bunch of soybean fields, and now it is a lovely neighborhood with a grocery store, pharmacy, dry cleaners, a few restaurants, and more. It is the perfect location for Peninsula-based people, as it is just 2 minutes from the James River Bridge, and for those stationed in Portsmouth and Norfolk, no HRBT or MMMBT. Eagle Harbor has apartments, townhouses, and single family homes and has a great clubhouse and pool!
