"Not the friendliest place to call home"

Not a military family-friendly kind of place. What military wife hasn't found herself letting the grass get an inch over "regulation" when her hubby deploys and she is homeschooling her children while trying to maintain some kind of balance? Not to mention the one time she finally makes it out there to cut said grass and it starts storming so she comes out of the lightning and leaves the grass clippings to sweep the next day. By the way, the homeowner gets charged anywhere from $25-$50 each time you have even one of these "charges" brought up. The HOA does not care to hear about your reason either. It's understandable that they want to keep everything perfect, but to be a day off on your weekly cutting and get charged is a ridiculous hassle I don't need. Streetlights are not conducive to emitting enough light for safety. Houses are way overpriced. There are many other military friendly neighborhoods here to move in to, especially at the ridiculous price they ask. Not worth the hassle.

"Decent location, a lot for your money"

While not in the heart of Hampton Roads (Norfolk, Suffolk, Virginia Beach, Portsmouth, Hampton, Newport News), this area has everything needed for a family. Multiple playgrounds, cul-de-sacs, pool, club house, and natural areas make it a fun place to be outside.
Creekside Elementary is new and good, and the shopping areas and entertainment have really sprouted up over the last 8-10 years.
Easy access to 664 and 164.

Nice, quiet neighborhood. Across the street from the elementary school. Close to parks, shopping and restaurants. Community pool, ponds and toddler parks.
