Any house on the ridge has amazing views of Diamond Head and the South Oahu beaches. It's close to Kahala Mall and Kaimuki, which is full of amazing restaurants and fun shops. You can be at Kapiolani Park in 15 minutes and in the water surfing in 20. Waikiki is only a short drive away, should you need a good dose of tourists. Unlike Hawaii Kai, living on this ridge allows you to avoid miles of bumper-to-bumper traffic each morning because the H1 begins at the very bottom of the hill. So, for Hawaii, not a bad location for commuting. Everyone seems to have a dog or two or three and walking your dog is the best way to meet people here. Housing prices are very high, but there are some affordable rentals. Because of the housing prices, there are fewer families than other areas on-island; many retirees. But it's quiet most of the time, which allows you to enjoy your views in peace!

  • How would you describe this Area of Town: Outdoor Activities, Touristy, Locals Spot, Shopping
  • Recommendations: Close to a few private schools, amazing views, decent public schools (for Hawaii), safe, close to everything, don't really need to leave this side of the island for much. Definitely recommend.
