Vista Woods has been a great community to raise my family. I've lived here for close to 30 years and highly recommend it to new families or families who are looking to downsize, like the empty-nester. Convenient to shopping, Quantico, area churches, grocery, wineries, and more!

"Older Neighborhood off the beaten path"

Vista Woods is an older neighborhood with a mix of 3-4 bedroom homes and smaller starter homes. There is no HOA in Vista Woods which we did not see as a problem while we lived there. There are no sub-division specific common areas. However, there is an elementary school, middle school, and high school that a lot of people use during non-school hours for the open fields and tracks. Over the years we heard of police activity from time to time, but never felt unsafe. Even though there were was a mix of government and military in the neighborhood there was also a base of permanent Stafford residents. We felt very at home and knew many of our immediate neighbors. The schools were great. We experienced good teachers and good administrators. Most of the high school age kids went to Mountain view. Elementary either Garrisonville or Margret Brent
