Westridge: Off Base Neighborhood/Subdivision

"Fine"

Westridge is a great water-privileged community that is less than a half mile walk to the center of town, Severna Park, MD. Mostly good-sized ranchers and some splits from the 1960s along quiet streets with underground utilities and streetlights.
The community water-access area on Cattail Creek is outside of the community, but still less than a mile walk. There is also a small parking area.

"Great schools and friendly folks"

This neighborhood has a great location between Annapolis and Fort Meade. The schools are all nationally recognized for academic performance. The houses have large rooms and good sized lots, most are around 1/3 acre. There are sidewalks, trees and grass. The neighbors are primarily civilian but are very supportive of the military. My neighbor plowed our court during a blizzard so I could go to the airport to meet my husband coming home from deployment. (Without me asking, he just saw the need and filled it!) There is a nice range of ages as well, from young couples, children of all ages, and older folks, too.

Pros Cons

  2. Grass, trees and sidewalks
  3. Great schools
  4. Nice neighbors
  1. Distance from DC
  2. Expensive
  3. No marina or beach in neighborhood
