"Amazing Hiking and Scenery Location"

This is probably the best hiking location in Colorado Springs! There's a huge variety of trails ranging from 1/2 mile to 6+ mile hikes into the mountains. Mt Buckhorn and May's Peak offer great views of the city and Highway 24 cutting through the Rockies. St Mary's Falls is a great hike along a mountain stream leading to large rock cliffs and the falls. Super pretty to see in summer time or when frozen in the winter time. Mt Cutler offers great views of southern Colorado Springs and a perfect view of Cheyenne Mountain, and it's an easy hike. Even if you don't want to hike, the road through the canyon is breathtaking and winds around a creek. Wildlife includng deer, raccoons, and squirrels are frequently seen with an occational bear or bobcat. There's a small visitors' center at the base of Helen Hunt Falls and a couple stairways up to a bridge over the falls which is great for pictures. The best place to park for the hikes is either alongside the road in a designated parking area, or in the make-shift parking lot at the start of Gold Camp Road/7 Bridges Trail up the road from Helen Hunt Falls. It's super busy on Saturdays, but everyone spreads out quite a bit because of all the many places to hike.
